The last copy of the centenary history has gone. So much for the chance of a book signing session by the authors. Attachments:

I think I've seen Torquay play on the first on several occasions. The sea lies behind that hill.
I've a memory of Torquay defending a lead there when the ball was booted into the away section. One of number - dazgull I rather suspect - bounced the ball a couple of times and held it in his possession for more than the maximum time allowed in such circumstances. I was surprised he escaped being cautioned.
I'm guessing on the second being Aylesbury.

Black rectangles give the first away in terms of the sponsored name of the stadium. Was demolished last year, I believe. A real sad sight given that this isn't a ground that a team moved out of...

Correct on the first one.
The team that played on the other ground was officially founded in 1890 after the amalgamation of three local clubs.
The club has never had a long-term home and played at this ground from 1973 until the end of the 2003/04 season.

I've a sneaky feeling we played at the second ground on a piddling wet day in the FA Cup the best part of twenty years ago. By the look of the ground now you could be excused for believing that John Betjeman got his wish.

It's the Freudian Psychoanalysis Stadium. Well found, Barton!

That's only a partial answer from Wildebeeste but, nevertheless a revealing one, in that the official name is the Victoria Pleasure Grounds.
On the way to the North Sea would be a further clue.

I was minding my own business at home last night when somebody rang to invite me to visit a few football grounds this week. Any ideas about this one? Attachments:

Bit of a shock to be offered the chance of visiting this ground this evening. But I wasn't complaining: Attachments:
