Leek Town have something of a pedigree: two seasons in the Conference and an FA Trophy final appearance puts them in the same bracket as, funnily enough, Torquay United. But now they’re at the same level in the pyramid of the likes of Taunton and Tiverton albeit with a proper football ground and some of the best gates in the division.
You’ll find Harrison Park on the Macclesfield road out of town. I liked the place especially the marvellous contrast between the industrial behind one goal and the rural behind the other. There’s also a tantalising glimpse of the Staffordshire moorlands in the distance:
