No wonder a toolbox of implements is required to support this unnatural act of placing the jam on top of the cream.
Is it any wonder that the jam attempts to escape and take up it's rightful place beneath the cream until it surrenders under the prodding and gouging from these various spoons and knives.
Down right wrong and unnatural, and I have no hesitation in declaring the Devon Cream Tea the 'gay marriage' of the culinary world !
Note that a Devon cream tea is traditionally served with spoons as well as a knife.
