Four coaches going to Bournemouth for Saturday's game. Marvellous! I was there too thanks to a late family holiday after my father's serious illness earlier in the summer. That, as you'd imagine, didn't go down too well with the grammar school.
And what's this about the supporters' club organising wrestling events at the town hall? You wonder if they were successful and whether there was somebody there to yell "squash him!" at regular intervals.
A sixteen-year-old wing-half - Norman Gilbert - on trial all the way from Aberdeen. We'd had a 'keeper from those parts called Bobby Grey so maybe we had "a man" in Aberdeenshire spotting talent. Was young Norman ever near being taken on and how did he look back on that mammoth trip down to Torquay? A few days in his life; a footnote in a football programme.
