Seems a lot of football websites have been changed this year and the South Devon league is one of them. I did find using it to find a match to watch today much better then the old site. You can select all and have all the games being played on one page. You can even see what pitch the matches are being played on. The only thing that is missing is the times the games actually kick-off.
You just get it in your head that on a Saturday afternoon, games start at 3pm when the light around 5pm is still good as it is now. The game I fancied watching was a Herald Cup game between Hookhills and Bishopsteignton at Whiterock. We talked about Whiterock on here about three years ago if I remember correctly, as both pitches were out of action for some time due to being improved. So it was a chance to watch a game and check out the new pitches at Whiterock.
So off I set and when I got there two games were already in action, so I asked someone who was playing on the pitch closest to me and what time the game had kicked-off. I was beside the right pitch, only the game had kicked off at 2pm and there was only five minutes left of the first half to play.
I did learn that Hookhills were one nil down and I bet they wished I had never turned up to at least watch the second half, I won’t do a report on the game due to only seeing half of it, I will just put up a few action shots from the game. Hookhills ended up losing the match 4.0 and were all I will say is that can not have any complaints about the final score.
I have to say those two pitches at Whiterock have been greatly improved and must now be one of the best local park pitches in the whole of Torbay.
