It was asked on the Aldershot thread whether Lincoln in the FA Cup was the last time we came back from 0-3. I'm not sure - the database doesn't have goal times. Can anyone remember how the scoring went in these games - every match we have won whilst letting in 3 prior to Aldershot yesterday?

I should have been more patient as we came back to draw 3-3

The two games that leap out in the memory bank for me from that list both pre-date even the Lincoln game. 1963 that strange 8-3 against Newport County when Robin Stubbs scored five. With only 20 minutes left we were winning 2-1 then it all went crazy! Rampant times at Plainmoor mind as in the next 3 weeks we had home results of 6-2 against Bradford (PA), 6-2 against Barnet (FAC), and 5-0 against Chester. The other 1966 4-3 against Bradford City. The debut of the magnificent John Bond. Can't remember the exact order of goals but the lead changed hands and we ended up winning. It was one of those games you felt our attitude was ok if you score 6 we'll score 7!

Thanks, Jon, for researching that list of possibilities. We certainly appreciate your capacity to extract this type of information at the drop of the proverbial old-style football manager's hat. Much appreciated.
But hearing that Jon's database doesn't have goal times has come as a major shock and something of a disappointment. If Jon is in the process of rectifying this unfortunate shortcoming - although that better not be at our insistence (even though it would be most welcome if he could manage it promptly) - we must offer our support and encouragement as Jon goes about his valuable task. I'm sure that, one day, we'll ask a question to justify all those months of tenacity.
Meanwhile, speaking of manager's hats, who was the last Torquay manager to wear one on a regular basis? Was Eric a hat wearer?

I have the feeling that those at Plainmoor on Tuesday witnessed the greatest fightback in the history of the club - 0-3 down with 43 minutes to go. Stefano put me right on the Lincoln game (incidentally the game that Bob Glozier got an injury he never recovered from) and none of the others seem to jog any memories from me. Great to see history being made.

The Histon match isn't - we were actually 3-0 up in that one

Surely Dave Smith was our last regular hat/cap wearer in 89/90 90/91. What do you reckon Barton Downs?

Yes, I'm sure I can picture Dave Smith in a hat. Photographic evidence?

Oh dear. No hat here, Dave is proudly showing off his bald head as well as a big bottle of bubbly:
