PICTURE A1 Name this city centre square 2 In which 1960s film, set in a fictional Northern town, did the leading man get off a bus here? 3 Who played the part? 4 Who wrote the novel on which it was based? 5 Which football ground, supposed to be in the same town but actually a long way away, did he visit later in the film? PICTURE BSame era, same city 1 In which film did the hero, in this pub, throw up in a woman's lap and then fall downstairs? 2 Who played the part? 3 Who wrote the novel? 4 In which other sixties film did the same leading man rent an executive box at Old Trafford for a Man United match? PICTURE C (easy) 1 Name the man represented here 2 The film which covered a semi-fictional chunk of his career 3 The actor who played the part 4 The writer of the book on which it was loosely based 5 Which football ground had a starring role? 6 And which long-lost ground was it standing in for?

I know where you've been today Wildebeeste!
That branch of Yates's looks familiar.
It was quite a place in the late 1970s when the city had a fair old football team.
Is Jon around?
Good grief, Saltergate is the answer to one of your questions I rather think.
Excellent questions but they're disturbing me from "Talking Double Dutch". It seems our hero - Paul Holland - holidayed in Brix'um as a child.

... in this pub, throw up in a woman's lap and then fall downstairs Sounds like a typical student night out to me - followed by a trip to the kebab shop and the last bus back to Beeston.

Picture A is the Old Market Square in Nottingham and I reckon you're talking about Alan Sillitoe's "Saturday Night and Sunday Morning" starring Albert Finney.

Or maybe B is Saturday Night? Albert Finney popping up as Charlie Bubbles at Old Trafford? Extensive research needed for that one!
Sadly, there seems to be less interest here in quirky quizzes than once-upon-a-time.....

I've reached the bit in Paul Holland's autobiography about Anstey's Cove. This is when the 13-year-old future Mansfield, Sheffield United, Chesterfield and Bristol City player comes to Torquay on holiday immediately after three weeks in traction in hospital. Ignoring medical advice, he's determined to get fit for a forthcoming trial at Nottingham Forest and goes on secret training runs across Babbacombe Downs, Stoodley Knowle and down to Anstey's Cove. And that's when his football ends up on a ledge......

Here's one for Wildebeeste: Is that Torquay in the film? Say yes!

That's certainly Torquay including an Ellacombe scene in that clip.

That's a rarity - a film I have actually seen! If that car had turned right instead of left, you would have seen my first house!
