The result made my Cajun Rib Eye all the tastier last night. No steak and ale pie then? Washed down with a couple of pints of Devon Dumpling? No, they had sold out of Steak and Devon Dumpling Ale Pie (more's the pity). Bumped into Bully Boy up there

Despite the moaning and groaning that dominates message boards, our core support is very impressive - and I hope that will give the board encouragement to stick at the "project". That's reassuring, Jon. After a block of twenty-four seasons of regular attendance at Plainmoor it's certainly been an interesting experience these last two for me following events through the prism of the Internet. I'm not sure if all the added perspective always helps with gaining an overall sense of perspective. If you know what I mean.....

Very good performance. Our home record's not looking too bad at the moment
Incidentally, Brass didn't look like a man who wants to leave on the touchline yesterday. He was really getting into it. That said, he did come over to the fans at the end of the game, as Jon said elsewhere. Maybe he was particularly desperate to win his last game here

I wouldn't want to make it sound better that it is and our performances this season have tested the patience of the most patient. Obviously, the lighter mood was largely caused by the quality of the performance, but near the end when Southend were doing their best to mount some pressure there was more support and defiance than panic and moaning. The supportive type tend to just get on with it rather than post on forums, but Val summed it up a couple of weeks ago: The situation is not good at the moment but surely true supporters do just that through thick and thin. I shall be at every game possible for the rest of the season and beyond and will continue to support and sponsor the club ( and yes, I would exhort all true supporters to do so too).

Indeeed, even during the Roberts season, when it became likely we were doomed, the crowds still held up with the seemingly diehard 2 thousand (ish) still going every week. Anyone know if that's Val as in Val and Merv?
