Another crucial match in the relegation battle. Bury are currently in the process of lifting themselves out of it, though, with only 1 defeat in their last 5 league matches (against Chesterfield, no less) and an important win at home to Wycombe last weekend

Subs: Reice Charles-Cook (Gk), Richard Hinds (Def), James Burke (Def), Andrew Procter (Mid), Tom Soares (Mid), Clive Platt (For), Tope Obadeyi (For)
Head-to-head:
Bury wins - 22 Torquay wins - 12 Draws - 13
Last match: Bury 1-3 Torquay (Downes 18; Cameron 24; McCallum 29, 57), League Two, November 2013
Last match at Plainmoor: Torquay 3-4 Bury (Robertson 18; Zebroski 20, 56; Lowe pen 27; Ajose 33; Schumacher 51; Jones 71), League Two, October 2010
Last Torquay win at Plainmoor: Torquay 3-1 Bury (Graham 26; Porter 38; Kuffour 46; Russell 85), Division Three, October 2003

Hope this match survives this weeks appalling weather forecast. Strange to think that none of the goalscorers that day last November, will start with Downes more than likely on the bench. Vital match for both sides, a real six pointer and should be another battle in the mud , driving rain and high winds if it does survive so wont be for the purist.
Still I am prepared - if its off I'll blame Aussie and if its played and we lose I'll blame Danny Stevens even if he is sat watching in the stands.

As I mentioned somewhere else, if we can win one/lose one until the end of the season we will be fine. At the moment we are winning so can now afford to lose one! Doubt weather (pun intended) the game will be on, but if it is would like to see a similar team to last Saturday, with the possible exception of Cooper for Nico! And i'm guessing that the Man U chap has to be given some sort of run out to appease the PL gods! Oh, and of course, Mansell still sat on the bench!
I'm afraid you will have to miss my wit and vivacity until the end of next week because i'm having my bloody hip taken out tomorrow! Only had the one I have now put in 8 years ago and they're supposed to last 20+ years! What sort of lunatic designs metal on metal hips to go in the human body!!!

Pete I control the weather from my secret laboratory so naturally it will be my fault! I got my knob stuck on the weather machine and can't switch it off! On a more serious note I can't get to RD&E to get my meds and have my tests til tomorrow now so I'll probably be too ill to make Saturday anyway!

Preview on dot com here[/font] Cooper out for a couple of weeks, Labadie and Tonge are being rested in training after picking up knocks but hoping to be fit. May be a chance for Rudge to make his debut oin one of his two positions?

Well here we go again...the last chance saloon! How many times have I heard games given that name during this season? Of course even this game is not quite the last chance one...but it's bloody close.
Goals (even a singular one of those will win the game tonight)) are what you need in football, and goals are the one thing we can't even buy. There's a programme on the tele called pointless (pointless by name, pointless by any sense of the imagination) whereby you have to get the least points to any given question! I think the Torquay team must watch this programme en masse and get brainwashed by it! Thereby thinking the fewer goals they get the more points they earn!
Goals, so who do we have in the team who can score such precious commodities...well no one actually!
Will finish this shortly, 'cause I have to run to the loo quickly!!!
Right, that's better...where was I? Oh yes, goals! Or to be precise, the lack of them! Obviously, last Saturday with two target men up front (Showy&Stocky) it was never going to work, but with Benyon being crook there wasn't much choice. Now of course we have Benyon and the return of Yeoman ( I personally think he should be in the team but of course it will never happen) and even to some degree Craig! So who will be in our forward line up tonight...well, probably none of the afore mentioned players!
To be honest, I won't even bother looking at the result tonight, i'll just check it in the morning!

So, with the departure of Labadie for the rest of the season...possibly forever, who does Hargreaves pick in the middle for tonight and indeed the rest of the season! Is it the return of Mansell and assured conference next season...or will Hargreaves pick someone with a bit of flair who can pass a ball further than an 1/8 of an inch and find one of his own players with said pass!
Oh what's the point, we all know who will be playing tonight and the rest of the season and I could go on about change until the bloody cows come home!

Every time Torquay play Bury at home I think back to the 16th March 1968. I was stood to the rear of the Pop side on the half way line and can still remember the third goal score by Bobby Baxter. He whacked in a long ball, their goalie thought it way rolling wide and let it go, the ball must have hit a bump on the pitch and amazed everybody by rolling in. The game was also on Match of the Day. Attendance 10.693! Those were the days!!!
