I can remember a row of trees on the Popular side inside the wall down where the toilet block used to be.

I'm not sure about that either. I always thought Pop was short for Popular Side but I may be wrong. I have some very old pictures I have with hats worn in the Grandstand and flat caps on the Pop. I don't recall a row of trees and think these photos were taken in the late 1920's, first TUFC home match. Been a long while since I got those photos out, though. Referee's outfit is smashing. Just some rope separating the Pop from the pitch and housing in Marnham Road behind, as I recall. Thanks for the posts lads. It just got me wondering how many other football clubs call their home terrace the popular side ? Are we unique ? I could have sworn i read a short article on whether the name poplar changed to popular over time in our local paper the Herald Express quite a few years ago and maybe in the old bygones section. Of course it may be the case that this horrible season is turning my brain to mush !

Surely were' going to be under scrutiny for spot fixing bets. 0-1 again - stupid challenge for a pen, and obviously deliberate penalty miss and a player sent off. Maybe this is the new commercial venture to make money for the club! Another laughable, unprofessional performance from the sounds of it with the serial failure Billy Bodin epitomising why we are in this mess. Dale Tonge a footballer? takes a penalty and bottles it where the fu** is the leadership on the pitch? We are the laughing stock of football tactically inept and unable to score a single goal even when its put on a plate. Are we down yet? I truly hope so. Been unwell so glad I didn't waste my money today though listening the arse Breed with that awful upward inflection in every sentence on radio Devon attempting to sound like a commentator just rubbed salt into the wounds. Completely lost faith in everything the manager and club are doing.

Well Si I think Tonge just chipped it back to the keeper Mrs Slocombe in the center of the goal and she was in Are you being Served. Its so bad I honestly think some of the players are playing badly on purpose so i have come to the conclusion it has to be spot fixing. If that isn't the case they all need to go and see a shrink to sort out their psychological state of mind and that includes the manager.

Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse...it does. I know it's meaningless but stats suggest we gave it a go. Will be interesting to hear reports. Anyway after another demoralising defeat, is anyone going to rovers next week or are me and my mate going to have the away end to ourselves??!
