Big problem scoring goals last season but it seems owers thinks we going to score plenty with what we got will see To be brutally honest, I always felt we were creating very little in the way of clear cut chances for the strikers to get on the end of over the last couple of seasons. Stands to reason that without that, we were always going to find it hard to get the ball in the net.

Andre Wright former loanee from WBA I can just about recall him (been so many players come and gone!)as being quite an effective and physical front man for us when he was just eighteen. Encouraging news and the final piece of the jigsaw. Team selection is going to be a bit of a headache I reckon and its going to be difficult to keep all the players committed and happy - good news for once.

Yep - I was quite impressed with him - certainly one with some potential, shows how easy it is to lose your way.

While the squad looks half decent for this level, it wasn't overloaded with recognised strikers, and so in that regard bringing in Andre Wright is a definite bonus. A tall slim striker, his strength, if I'm remembering rightly, was in running at opponents and having the ability to go past them with the ball, using skill every bit as much as outright pace. Other aspects of his game, such as heading, distribution, awareness of his teammates positioning, holding the ball up with his back to goal etc, were not exceptional nor likely to improve sufficiently to make the grade with WBA.
With a further couple of seasons experience and learning under his belt, and only having to face opponents of NLS ability, then there's no reason why Andre can't be very effective for us, while continuing to improve on aspects of his game that need strengthening. A welcome extra option to the forward line, and a player who you'd expect to be putting in a strong challenge for a shirt in the starting eleven before too long.

Have we been able to prise Josh McQuoid away from Weymouth I wonder ? He's hardly been there long enough to unpack his bags, so I suppose it's unlikely. But what a twin strikers combination McQuoid and Williams would make. If Owers has belatedly decided on bringing in a battering ram then it might help Williams if he no longer has to be the focal point of the attack, although our delivery needs to improve substantially if we're to get the best out of a big man.
Neither Reid or Keating are looking that much more effective at the lower level, and Owers knows that he's under pressure to provide a quick fix rather than give them more time to come good. Williams quality is undoubted and so the same questions don't need to be asked of him, it's just a matter of getting the right assistance to enable him to do what he does best.
The supply hasn't been all it could have been, so the blame for the lack of goals can't entirely laid at the strikers feet, but there's little evidence that the tide was about to turn and reward us with an avalanche of goals, so changes are required to address our chronic lack of scoring so far this season.

Looks to be loan players from Championship Club ? Bristol City. A couple of decent forwards could boost GO’s and TUFC’s case. Turn around is desperately needed.

A desperate attempt to save his job and win back the fans no doubt - that's if the owner has any genuine interest in the football club. Not holding my breath. He's lost the fans now and it will be virtually impossible to get them back on side. Most have already made up their minds. Odd that we could all see that the forwards at the club were not up to it yet hes persevered with players that failed for the same reasons last season and ultimately got us relegated. I would have thought his main priority would have been to sign a proper target man. Very odd behavior.

To be successful the loans will need to be for a reasonable period of time, one of the players must be able to be a target man, the players should not be bench warmers, they will need to score goals. In addition to this, the rest of the team will need to get their acts together and put pressure on opponents by playing with a degree of urgency. Simple isn’t it?!
