With Randell suspended, all of a sudden Price was on the bench today. Waiting to hear news on Little’s scan and why Moxey wasn’t able to travel. Davis out to around after Christmas, Nelson hopefully ready soon as well so numbers should be back soon....

link - good update on the injury situation with Moxey and Little back very soon, Kerr needing game time, Nelson over injury but having to rebuild fitness and Davis still some way away. With an intense period coming up good to know that we have cover coming back into the side.

We have so much more strength in depth this term Rob and it was around this time last season we started to pick up injuries that would devastate the squad and blunt our challenge.
Hope we can hang on to Randell and Sherring who have bought into our system and have added to the quality in the squad. Bound to get niggly injuries especially with our style of play and the demands the manager places on the squad and we have to be careful with the long term ones coming back. Unlike last season we can afford them time to get back to 100%.and we have young naturally fit players like Arron Nemane, CLE and Ben Whitfield who never seem to wilt and surely the main reason Jake Andrews isn't getting much pitch time. Their work rate is incredible and a big plus for us this term and already POS candidates in what is a talented squad.

With a hectic December schedule there is a small amount of concern with our injuries. No fit full backs yesterday and Wright limped off after landing awkwardly after heading a ball from a throw in and challenged in the air. Not that it affected our play much, Sherring did well on the right of defence as did Andrews on the left. Good news is that Kerr finally made his first start and after a long lay off, did well in the circumstances alongside Cameron. Umerah can deputise for Wright in his forward role. Devon Live are reporting Moxey and Wynter as having slight Muscle strains - link and you would hope they are back within the next week or maybe two. Pity that Little has not made the bench yet. Looking at the punishment that CLE is getting, we need him to cover his position. Would love to see him start in this role for the Trophy game scheduled for 19 December but he will need a couple of sub appearances before then over the next 3 games. Maybe Nelson will be fit by then and able to show us what he can do for this game as well?

link - bit more of an injury update with Wynter still about a fortnight away from fitness and Moxey probably a bit sooner than that but sounds like another week away. Nelson has a bit of floating bone fragment in his knee which will need a Operation to remove although apparently very straightforward and at least they now know what the problem is. The good news is that the starters on Tuesday look like they are fit and Little is now fit enough to be part of the squad and pushing for a return on the subs bench. Apparently a lot of interest in our squad both from other clubs and those players interested in joining us but nice analogy from Johnson about his dad adding a tiger fish into his fish tank which upset the equilibrium and had to be removed so looks like no changes for now.

If we are looking to strengthen the squad in future, I would be interested to hear which of our opponents to date have impressed. Haven't seen many games, but Luke Molyneux (age 22) at Hartlepool looked talented and the type of player who would fit nicely into our system of play. Also waiting to see what Nelson delivers when he finally gets fit. Could give us a real boost.

link - first start for Little in 11 months! Good news all round and has looked in good form. Should provide cover for Hall now next Saturday.and the club have a top notch central midfield which could easily be rotated.

Another Sunderland youth player and we do need another winger as Whitfield and Nemane are having to play a lot of minutes in a wide position. Mention from Mansfield fans today that Reid ought to be loaned out in January, now would have him back in an instance!

link good news in that Nelson has had his operation. Read elsewhere 3 to 4 week recovery time from this op, possibly match fitness will then need to be built up. Need to hear back on the scans on Little and Wright next. Hopefully Wynter and Waters return is imminent. Davis is still a bit away. Also loan periods for Sherring and Randell expire on 13th January, just 2 games left, they have both been integral to a very successful side, a season long extension would be good news.

Randell has been superb in a Gulls shirt - I'm not sure who fulfils a similar roll in the current Argyle team but whoever it is, Ryan Lowe must rate him! Given the time he finds when in possession, performing in a higher league would be an easy transition. Fingers crossed we can keep hold of him.
