It took a late away goal scored by CLE with help from Whitfield and Nemane to get a narrow 4-3 win over Weymouth during the Christmas period and we may well have none of them available this Saturday. Whether CLE will be over his knee impact injury by then remains to be seen but playing Little in the centre and Andrew’s on the left would help the balance of the side better.
On the plus side, Wynter, Waters and Wright are now all fit as opposed to being unavailable against Weymouth back then. Umerah was the sole striker in the squad that day and scored so may well be recalled to back up Wright with recent addition Kimpioka injured but overall our squad is now looking much stronger with Law, Lewis and Boden also joining us since the New Year.
Weymouth have been making a decent fist of things in their first season back at this level and are now out of the nominal relegation zone. They have had some good wins beating 10 man Maidenhead 2-1 on Good Friday, Wealdstone 4-0 and Stockport 1-0 last month. Also drew against our nemesis this season, Dagenham with narrow single goal losses to in form Chesterfield and Halifax.
We desperately need a win to close the gap on the top two but if our improving defence stands firm then an opportunity or two is likely to present itself and another narrow win may be on the cards.....

Knowing us we'll lose to Weymouth and beat Sutton on Tuesday!
One win and one loss from the two games would be better than undefeated and two draws mind you though I see Sutton will see Tuesdays game as a cup final especially if we are just three points behind them on Tuesday.
Our lack of goals and offensive threat is still a big problem and puts added pressure on us to defend well and give nothing away and that's still a major concern. Many times in the last ten or so games, when we've been deadlocked at 0-0 I always felt that if we went a goal down we would never get back in the game. Still with Wrights return and an obvious improvement as a target and hold up man things may continue to improve in that area. Wouldn't play Bodin personally I don't think hes mobile enough or offers anay genuine threat. Umerah would be my choice and despite his technical limitations he can take the load off of Wright a little and ruffle a few defensive feathers. Koszela would be another option but for whatever reason is being held back from a starting spot and has not even figured on the bench of late. My expectations are still lower than they were purely because we haven't found a solution to our goal threat. Only when we get Whitfield, Nemane and Cameron back in contention will I feel more optimistic of our chances to really threaten the top spot, a play off place and ultimately promotion.

I agree with you petef with regard to Umerah, assuming he is fit, im struggling to see why he was not even on the bench on Monday. For me he would be in ahead of Waters and Boden all day long.

On the basis Umerah had a good game against them and scored last time out and assuming Kimpioka is out, then I would also think Umerah will make it back into the squad for tomorrow. I’d probably start Wright on his own.

Nervy day tomorrow Torquay United v Weymouth ⚽️ followed immediately by Exeter Chiefs v Leinster 🏉. Won't sleep tonight! Went to Weymouth as sub October 1969 1-1 draw. Bloody cold best bit was sitting between John Benson and Alan Welsh for the lunch time pre-booked hotel stop. How times have changed! Only going as far as Weymouth and the reserves stopped for lunch!
I would go for Umerah as well. 👍⚽️

Covolan
Wynter Sherring Lewis Law
Randell Hall
Evans Little Andrews
Wright
Subs MacDonald Umerah Warren Moxey Waters
Whilst our injured list is not what it was, the quality of those injured is a real factor. 5 out of the 6 would be in my starting line up if fit. Half a team of outfield players of very good quality. Cameron, Davis, Whitfield, Nemane and Kimpioka. The other being an unknown quantity. Nelson.

link - nice to see that CLE has recovered from his knock and Kimpioka only has a grade 1 tear so only out for a couple of weeks. Decision comes down to playing an extra midfielder or a striker to accompany Wright.

link - Andrews in for Kimpioka. Much better balance I think.

link - Andrews in for Kimpioka. Much better balance I think. The other Rob correctly guessed the starting xi. I would expect 4-4-2 rather than 4-2-3-1 with Randell wide and either Little or Lemonheigh-Evans playing off Wright. Worried about overplaying Wrighty - let’s hope we can sub him early so he is fresh for Sutton.

With Wor Quoidie injured for them, it’s difficult to know where the goals will come from. Saved me some money. I was going to hire Gary Owens to give Quoidie a motivational pre-match talk.

Good to see CLE is available and must be fully over his knock as he surely wouldn't have been even considered if there were any doubt about his fitness. Not been at his best but like others is missing the key support acts to look and play his best game. A lone role with midfield support for Danny Wright - as you say John I hope he isn't over played and we pay the price.
