The smaller unfancied nations are showing the way. Very impressed with the Swiss, tactically spot on, Denmark, Czech Rep and thought Austria were a little unlucky against Italy who I thought would pound them into submission. Great games today what drama and a game tonight that constantly swung both ways. Amazing watch but tough if your on the losing end of a penalty shoot out as we all know so well.
Sure to be a bore tomorrow and if we lose .... well it was our nemesis Germany..and if we win there won't be a better chance of making it to a final with Sweden or Ukraine waiting in the wings.

Couple of cracking games tonight… Incredible couple of games. Agreed, but also incredibly nauseating verbal diarrhoea by the female "co-commentator", who completely drowned out the poor guy trying to describe the action in the Croatia v Spain match. She even called herself a leading coach! I had to mute the sound after about ten minutes, as I have never heard such crap in all my life. I am all in favour of equality between the sexes in most walks of life, but both the BBC and ITV are now flooding their football programmes with women, some of whom may have played over 100 games for England but have no experience of men's football, which is totally different. Why are they needed? I can only suppose that there are quotas to be observed. Really pleased that the Swiss got through at the expense of the arrogant French. Spain are no great shakes these days either. Come on England!

She is a leading coach, Stewart. Chelsea Women. Champions League finalists this season and I’d be surprised if she isn’t managing England Women at some point if she fancies it.
I think she sounds a bit like Kathy Burke, which may not be everyone’s cup of tea. In terms of analysis, though, I thought she talked a lot of sense. And showed decent insight. She pretty much predicted how Croatia would get back into the game at the expense of aerial threat against the Spanish centre backs and they did it a few moments later. Also enjoyed the Clive/Coisty combination in the later match. Not for any great insight, but the light hearted nature of it at times.
But the real entertainment was on the pitch tonight. More again tomorrow, please. But with a goal or two winning margin for the ticker.

Not sure if it was the same game, probably was though but my wife and son were saying how good the female commentator was yesterday and how nice it was to have some female representation in these games. Only saw 10 - 15 minutes of that game myself and didn’t really clock there was a female commentator…..

After predicting how Croatia would equalise she even named Morata as the man to get them back on top and he duly obliged as well. She knows her onions.
