This is now actually the first of three home games and we have some unfinished business after losing away by a single goal to Aldershot back in November where it suddenly looked like we might be drawn into a relegation scrap. Just looking back on that match thread and Rob who was at the game had this to say: Dominated possession. Think Armstrong should have been allowed through to score from my angle. Didn’t see any push from him. We are the better side by a way but 0-0 and not an end product as of yet. Seems to be the story of the season where we have been unable to score on many occasions while dominating possession with Armstrong being our most potent threat and able to take us up to mid-table obscurity but only keeping him for the season would have kept us in with a shout of the playoffs. Hoping for a good game tonight with a win to at least get us on track to finish the season strongly.

Very frustrating...had we kept Waters no doubt we would now be in the play offs. We desperately need a striker!

Agreed stig but I believe Billies was more personal issues and location away from family etc that decided his move away to Halifax. Also so frustrating to read how Exeter City continue to benefit from the sale of Newton Abbot lad Ollie Watkins another who simply slipped though our net and has gone on to gain international caps and now included in the latest England squad. GJ has already begun the process of making room for improving the squad by releasing Louise Slough, signed for Dorchester and Marcin Brzozowski signed for Hayes and Yeading. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Olaf go in a similar direction - if he hasn't impressed enough now then I doubt he will in the near future. The club simply cannot wait any longer and Im pretty damn sure all of these lads will have been monitored for form and any improvement that would warrant a contract. Obvious where his priorities must lie. So many times we have dominated possession and been the better side but failed to score. Looking back at many of the games including Saturdays and our finishing is truly woeful though very little else wrong with the our build up play, effort or commitment. We desperately need a proper striker if we are ever to challenge seriously again. Good to see Opie Edwards here he adds pace and quality above that what is already here. Felix was a punt and available simple as that and has had limited opportunities hasn't really impressed or made and impact in the same way as Nemane and one or two others did. Some work some don't and the manager can only sign those willing to come and who are available at the right price.

"Meanwhile, Torquay have confirmed that young defender Louie Slough has left the club for Dorchester Town, and 'third' goalkeeper Marcin Brzozowski has joined Hayes & Yeading United".

2-0 and much discussion on who scored each goal.
Consensus seems to be Moxey and Wearne...

Thanks for the update petef..much appreciated. Totally agree it would really help the club if we did a better job of scouting local talent.Hopefully a number of the U18 players will break into the first team.
