After the disappointing loss against Dorking on Tuesday, we now have it all to do again with two home games coming up starting with a visit off Southend today. Obviously we will be without the services of Evans who picked up that second yellow on Tuesday so will be changes. TUFC match preview

A win followed by Southend going bust and six points deducted knowing our luck.
I do hope not as I send good wishes to our friends at Southend in their battle to survive. One of my happiest footballing days was at Roots Hall. Wouldn’t mind them having a thirty point deduction though!
Mensah to start at right back? Hopelessly out of position but cannot be worse than Crowe and frees Donnellan to help Lapslie in midfield rather than having McGavin stand around doing nothing.
Who replaces Evans? Obvious answer is Wyatt, useless as he is. Martin? Huge gamble as he cannot be match fit.
Collins? Could well be but that would mean no striker on the bench yet again.
Having no fresh striking legs on the bench costs us dear again and again.
Come on you yellows.
A nice win please to set us up for a nice beer and a curry. Marvellous.

Mensah replaces Evans with Collins taking his place on the bench.
No width other than De Silva.
Guess Mensah right back?
Either Donnellan right and De Silva left in a 4-4-2, or a 4-3-3 with DeSilva and Fadahunsi either side of Jarvis?
Or a diamond with Donnellan at the base and De Silva in a free role at the tip??
I just can't juggle those eleven into a shape that really works

Not sure what think . MacGavin retains his place surprisingly and Collins on bench. Prove us wrong Brett? Knowing our luck we'll win and do the double on Southend who will then be expelled with six which would mean a likely six point deduction for us and almost certain relegation. Maybe the Dorking game really was a must win after all.

What on earth has happened to Omar? He can't be any worse than some of those in the squad today.

We're incredibly poor and deserve to be relegated. To concede so easily once again after getting back into it exposes our many weaknesses. Feel for the supporters who attended and watched that shower of dog poo and one or two of the players who are good enough for this level, lawrence , lapslie, and jarvis. Damage was done before a ball was kicked this season six months ago.

It is becoming increasingly clear: 1. We are not very good. 2. Our scouting set up has failed miserably. 3. Whatever we are doing on the training ground is not translating to games. 4. We are going to need a heck of a run of form to avoid relegation.

Went out for a few beers and curry after the match but not under the happiest of circumstances as we were very poor yesterday. With Evans injured, Mensah was brought in on the right but somewhat understandably looked like a fish out of water and it was amazing that he actually lasted until half-time.
After a relatively bright start, Southend took control of the match and it was only a matter of time before they were able to work an opening in our area. We literally offered nothing going forward in the first half and their keeper won’t have had a much easier half this season.
Southend seemed relatively content to hang onto their lead and we offered a bit more going forward in the second without carving out too many clear chances. Pressure eventually told however five minutes from the end when Collins was able to make space in the area to slot the ball home. We continued to press forward and Jarvis only very nearly got on the end of a free kick to take a lead with a couple of minutes remaining. However, on the 90th minute mark hour, too much pressing forward saw Donovan outnumbered three to one after an attack broke down, forced to go backwards, he was eventually rounded in the area and the ball was duly slotted home for another defeat completely changing our outlook from a week ago. In the brown stuff now…..

As well as we played against Barnet, how poorly we’ve played in the last two games and for me that is it: we’re down. Whilst there are 14 games left, we just are not good enough and losing these two matches will have knocked any stuffing left out of the side, the fanbase and that’s it.
We are likely to be relegated with Maidstone, Scunthorpe and one out of Yeovil and Dorking. That means three teams going into the NLS and that means it won’t be as easy as last time and that’s discounting the fact that our 2019 side had a smattering of EFL quality players in it and was far superior to this version.
Yesterday was an abysmal match; Southend didn’t look that great themselves but they were better than us, as pretty much everyone is. Looking at the players we fielded yesterday and thinking about the side we had two years ago and last year, there are only Lawrence, Jarvis and Lapslie who could potentially not look out of place in the squad we had previously (Moxey was obviously in it anyway, and Halstead maybe as a squad player). The rest are just poor. I don’t know if this is the worst team in our history (I feel like I’ve probably seen worse) but even under Nicholson things weren’t this bad.
I’m not anti-Johnson in the way some are: I’m not about to go apoplectic about it as rather resigned to relegation and have got used to the idea. I hate the National League anyway (although I’d feather leave it going upwards) but how depressing that we’ve become not even good enough to stay in it, collapsing so quickly from almost winning it to falling out of it, in the way we used to when we were in the EFL. Regarding Johnson, I find all so sad and when the time comes for him to go (which most assume will be at the end of the season) I will feel for him personally that it’s all ended where it started but as Stewart points out, with a team that is probably weaker than the one that even Gary Owers left us with.

I still can’t believe ‘that’ free kick routine 😡 Bloody awful naive ametuer routine just asking for trouble. I'm a Moxey fan as most of us are but he's no leader on the pitch and should have grasped the potential problems,if the ball broke quickly to the opposition as it did, with his experience. No idea either why Jarvis ran the ball sideways giving the oposition time to rush McGavin. It was a direct free kick I believe and could see no advantage whatsoever in that move. Truly awful and doubt you will ever see a team commit football suicide in such a stupid manner. We've gone from bad to bloody ridiculous.
