I hope that Paul Buckle, will use this game, to try and show, that we do have the players, to win games in open play. The team should be set up to be as attack minded as it can be. The Cup, won't mean much to many fans, but scoring a few goals, will help to stop the doubters.
We know we have a good team, we know the quality of many of our players, the team now needs to display those qualities on the pitch.

I suppose three games in two days will be good preparation for the inevitable four games in seven days later this season! ;D Without a doubt, the team won't be undercooked going into the Histon match and this is probably a good thing bearing in mind the change of personel and style. It will be interesting to see the line up today but suspect that maximum use of substitutions will be made. A win and a few goals today will be a good morale boost for both players and fans alike going into the new season. On paper, August looks to be an easier month than September and therefore think it is quite important for the players to gel and hit the ground running before playing what may turn out to be some of the promotion runners.

I completely agree that we need to show we can score goals from open play. Eastliegh are a decent side that nearly made the BSP last season so if we can put 2 or 3 past them then this will give fans great confidence going into the new season. I'll predict 2-0 to United with Sills and Hodges to score. Dont know why??? but i thought it would be fun to try to make a prediction. ;D

Every one knows Barnsta ple is spelt one way but pronounced "Barn stubble" by the locals. It's Kingsteignton and Kingskerswell to say nothing of Doddiscombesleigh that confuses the grockles and reminds me of my gran's favourite little rhyme.............."'accombe, Daccombe, Coffinswell; ALL begins with A"

Starting 11

Subs Fisher(gk) Yeoman Carayol Green
Hodges Todd Carlisle
Lasted update, plenty of tackles going in United comfortable but not creating anything.

Stevens puts it past the post from 10 yards, when he should have scored.

United looking the more dangerous,
but Eastleigh just shot from 18 yards tipped around post by Rice.

Goal Eastleigh take the lead, Ellis gives away a penalty, Rice sent the wrong way.

OK its no problem, I said we would win 3 goals to one, so we just need to score three times in the second half. ;D Its why I never gamble really.
