On saturday the buisness begins. I dont know who is going to be on the bench, weather its Grant Fisher (YTS keeper) or 5 out field players or a different keeper bought in from somewhere else.
The match itself I think we can win, I dont want a 5-4 win as I would probably die. Poke in goal will make it a lot harder for them to score and seeing as we have a broader sqaud and competition for all positions on the field we can certainly do the stuff that needs doing.

Well, finally here we are on the eve of a new season and have read the Dave Thomas match preview. Hopefully many of the questions that have been the subject of much speculation will be answered! Who will be in the starting XI? Who will make the subs bench? Who will be captain? Will the crowds be higher this season? Are the new signings as good (or bad) as we think they are? Will the team gel? What style of play will we see? Who will score the goals that Phillips and Zebroski got last year? How will Green's knees be? Will Merse and Dave finally be in agreement ;D I could go on. ;D But at last we will have something tangible to pass comment on. Don't know about you, but I can't wait....

Well I'm on a bit of a "dummy run" for Histon this afternoon as we're off to Newmarket for this evening's racing on the lovely July Course followed by Madness it's a 22,000 sell out (it's the band that gets' em in!) so we'll be off in a few minutes for the first race at 5.50pm and the kids need to be dropped off at their aunty's. It's only a fifteen minute drive from the Glassworld Stadium, but nevertheless it's back home tonight and up again tomorrow. Where did you get that avatar of my missus, Spagbol? ;D

rjdgull, will I ever see mermaids on Thacher Rock? as much chance as Dave R and Merse being in agreement ;D
This is what we have all been waiting for and once again we set out on a journey unknown. Our hopes are high and we have every reason for them being so, I really hope fans will keep faith, if things do not start off as they would want.
Life really is a roller coaster being a TUAFC fan, but we really must be due to be riding the high side this season. Our club has ambitions, that is for sure, the first task and most important one, is to get back into the football league. There will come a time when we will have to be content, when we have gone as far as our gates and income can support.
Lets hope that no mattar what happens we end the season on a big high, for so many the pain and hurt from last season, is still within them. This season can heal those wounds once and for all, wipe away those playoff game blues we all suffered.
How nice it would be, next summer to be walking around, smiling from ear to ear, because our club, the one that is such a big part of our lives, got promoted, back to where it truly belongs.

Today's line up - Big questions
CB - Hargreaves or Woods?
LB - Hodges or Nicho?
CM - If Woods and Nicho get other two then take your pick Hodges, Hargreaves, Wroe, Thompson?
Wingers - We can probably assume : Carlisle and one other. Will it be Hodges, playing a midfield role on the Left or the more attacking wing option of Stevens or even Carayol?
CF - Again we can safely assume Sills and one other. But Who? Green is probably favourite ahead of Benyon but could Dsane earn a suprise start? Of course, Dsane, could even, as he was last season, be employed as a right winger, presumably this eventuality would mean Carlisle on the Left.
Any big suprises - Ellis at Centre back or Brough?
Injury news - Adams - Ill, Robertson recovering from slight knock, as was Hargreaves, but he is, apparently, now fully fit.
Thoughts?

Hargreaves over Woods, not by choice, but I feel the Truro events will take effect. Hodges over Nicho, because he has shown to play the positon better Sills with Green, because its our best chance for goals Well thats my view anyway

Surprised Stevens got the nod over Carayol I would think as Benyon has been scoring in the pre season friendlies, is the reason he got the spot over Green.

Personally, i would have gone for Nicho instead of Hodges, other than that, my lineup is the same.
Nicho's set pieces did account for many of our goals last season. Furthermore, he is a rather quality player, in my opinion.

Well due to problems at Histon, we have the commentary via mobile phone from Radio Devon, lets hope the guy charged his battery before he left home.
Sounds so far, that we are pressing well.
