There is a world of difference Merse between the Granby Industrial Estate and a place like Clennon Valley, no one in their right mind could ever compare them.

Fair play to anyone braving the Eiger Stand. We were, in the last 20 minutes, also treated to a wonderful sunset. I was most upset that I'd forgotten the good camera. Sometimes you're better off in the cheap seats. Aptly named Chris, it's been up twenty one years and nobody's had the bloody brains to fit side screens to it! The toilets down below had no working lighting, so whether they were clean or not gawd knows. The "caff" was a depressing little hutch with a serving hatch and the Wessex Bar upstairs about as bereft of anything sophisticated as anywhere I have visited. Consequently, spent very little money (just a bit on the kids, nothing for myself) and "Poor old Weymouth" get poorer and poorer. Makes you want to kick the dozy beggars into life to help themselves! The gate yesterday was almost three times their average and all I heard was negativity So pleased you enjoyed your sunset, the view from the Royal Box of the derelict dump next door (seems like the speedway's up the swanny too) the miles of galvanised fencing and the surrounding scrub land was riveting!

Does anybody know how many of the 2323 were Torquay fans. It looked like the biggest away crowd that I've been part of this season. Also forgot to mention in my earlier post about the catering behind the goal. By 3.30 ... maybe a lot earlier ... they had run out of hot food and also milk. Couldn't be bothered to queue over on the side for a burger so went with a soup. Not great. The official figure given out by Weymouth is 807. Not sure if that was only the way end they counted, as we had some sat up in the high seats as well

That would have included some of the people in the seats. When I asked about seating I was told to go through the away turnstile and then ask to be let through the gate towards the main stand. This I duly did and then paid the extra two quid at the top of the steps. Once inside the ground I wondered why I had bothered because I could have paid with the Weymouth fans and then again for the seats. At least I added to the total of our fans!
800 surprised me a little. On the day, from my view "on high" I would have said 700 Torquay fans in a crowd of 2,000 so I'd have been out on both counts.

Chris Hayes The camera facility on my mobile phone isn't good enough to do justice to it....but here's a little reminder

Those figures can't be "spot on" accurate - they only refer to how many were counted through a particular gate (s). My two kids were "lifted over" for their "free entry" and would not appear in those figures,so how many more weren't? There were considerable numbers who went through the home gates, so if you say "around a thousand", give or take a hundred each way you'd be pretty accurate. Who needs to be accurate anyway (apart from the pedantic)? - Weymouth get all the money.

I thought Beavon stood out a mile for them and one who could be a great addition to our squad one day - he's definitely a player "on the up" and one to keep an eye on. This statement might well hold some significence shortly!
