Things may be bad, but going back to having a part-time manager in Leroy again is the sort of pathetic solution by the juvenile users on torquayunited.txt that I have come to expect over the last year or so!!
I look back and read my posting as being fairly mild compared to the fury I felt towards the team and coaches compared to the efforts that the board have made to support them..... Other than Bevan, Mansell, Hargreaves, Sills & Nicholson (although the latter two didn't exactly cover themselves in glory) I wouldn't be disappointed to see any of the others that appeared for us tonight move-on.

I see it was asked if Ellis is injured, as I have said before he for reasons unknown, not in Bucks plans and I would be surprised if he plays any part in the rest of our season.

I thought Beavon stood out a mile for them and one who could be a great addition to our squad one day - he's definitely a player "on the up" and one to keep an eye on. This statement might well hold some significence shortly! Grrrrrrrrr. I agree with DaveR about Ryan Williams. If he's a free agent in two weeks time, we could do worse than packing Carlisle or Carayol off to Salisbury or wherever and getting him in on the left.

Dave - don't hold back by waiting until tomorrow - some of our player "slept on it" the whole way through the match and I think you're being too generous!!!!
I would slag-off the referee and his dreadful assistant, but it wouldn't have made much difference even if there was someone who let the game flow. I was level on the Pop-side when the keeper handled out of his area (and then one of their players got their hand on it from the cross), but the linesman was even closer - shame on him as well for such a spineless display.
I agree with the points you make Dave on the match, but I'd be surprised if Woods was dropped from the squad altogether, I'd also be very disappointed if Ellis didn't have a future at the club.
With regards to Williams, I couldn't elaborate during the game as my little palm PDA makes it difficult to type much, but he has torn us apart with Chesterfield, Hull, Bristol Rovers and now Weymouth. An excellent player - a proper winger and he must relish his trips to Plainmoor! I think he gave one of the most impressive individual performances turning that turned a game in the favour of the opposition when Bristol Rovers were 2-0 down and came back to beat us 3-2 back in the "great escape" (version 4) season in 2005/06.

Ohtobeatplainmoor: Apparently Woods had a sore knee which kept him out of the squad tonight, I've just read on .com.

ohtobeatplainmoor firstly a big thank you for putting up reports during the game, I'm sure many really enjoyed getting some live up dates from the match. After talking with young Mark some time ago I really felt that he will not feature in Buckles team and that is why I had started a thread called, what has Ellis got to do.
The ref and popside linesmen were once again very poor, but I think we have now come to just except that in this league the standards of the officials is going to be poor and that is just one more reason we need to get back into the league.
As I said in my report I can understand the changes Bucks made and his reasons, but I would not have played Christie with Sills, Green was the player who should have started with Christie and I would hope that is what we see happen in our next game.
I do wonder if the team is as good as we all thought it was, one thing that we do know is our lack of pace at the back and Nico gets caught out far to often by anyone who has any pace at all.I did feel when Bucks made the changes that he seemed desperate to try and get something to happen out on the pitch, but I'm not sure his choices were the right ones.
I really got fed up in the second half with the remarks being shouted out by some on the popside, no we were not at the races and got beat by a team who has players who know how to finish in front of goal. The boos were not required and do nothing to help anyone let alone the team. We need to forget tonights game and see what happens on Saturday.
One thing we can't do is not win on Saturday, I do fear we will slide and not be able to recover any form if we fail to win our next game.

While I agree Ellis is a decent prospect, I still don't think he is anything better than our fourth choice CB at the moment if all the players are fit.
A more pertinent thread should be 'What has Green got to do?'
Best game for the club followed by ZERO minutes TOTAL in three games smacks of a manager who has his favourites and will go with them whatever the weather or pitch conditions.
Anyone who was at the Coventry game (apart from maybe running out wide too much Rob) would say he was MOTM, and what has he been given since....splinters from sitting on the bench freezing his bollocks off!
And with not a word of explanation as to his absence.

Andy I think most know my views on Green and he was improving with every game and the goals were surely soon going to come from him. I fail to understand after the Coventry game why Bucks went back to having just Sills up front on his own and just having Green on the bench.
Maybe he knows something we don't? but if it is as you say that he has his favorites, he needs to stop that at once and get the best players out on the pitch.

............................and of course the size of Brett Pilnick's palm (I believe he was the commentator) actually getting some commentary on the football was tough. Is that his name? Somehow it sounds so apt! Brett Pillnick in his bobble hat

Thanks for all the match reports. It sounds even worse than what we had to listen to on the radio. Highlight of the evening was getting my email mentioned live on the radio Concentration is fully on the league and we start to screw up big time. Where has the time gone when we were scoring from all over the place? If we win our games in hand then we'll be sitting comfortly in the play-off zone. Histon, Cambridge, Stevenage, Wrexham, Kidderminster, Crawley and us. That's seven clubs, nine if you count in Oxford and Kettering, who will all battle for a place in the play-offs. Who of these clubs will make or break in the rest of this season. Difficult and only time will tell...

You can do no more than make an offer to a player and present him with a decent package... if, for whatever reason, a player chooses not to join us what can be done?

I love looking for positives most of the time, but I don't think there will be any coming from that performance tonight....although between finding out someone was watching from a cupboard in Narnia, finding out the inside leg measurement of the four Exeter scorers, how much snow there hadn't been in Torquay and of course the size of Brett Pilnick's palm (I believe he was the commentator) actually getting some commentary on the football was tough. Beginning to sound like Merse now so should get some sleep and wake up tomorrow feeling more like myself ( no, not feeling myself for all you comedians out there !!) Nothing wrong with that CG.......now where's my white stick gone!
