Well lets hope we get back to winning ways against Stevanage. Start this month Of with a win and hope we can do what we did last month and continue to win our games.
Would hope we play with a good attacking line up, maybe like we started with at Wrexham.

With Benyon out and Carlisle back I suspect that we will play with just two up front or one in the hole behind Sills. However, predicting the formation, let alone the side is somewhat problematic at the moment which is no bad thing. Looking forward to this game as good memories from this fixture last year Got a feeling that there might be a few goals in this match. I also think Wroe is due a goal.

I think as the home side, we should be looking to do the attacking and start with two up front. I feel the change we made with just Sills up front, was needed to stop the run Of bad results. It did Its job and worked well for a second game, this allowed the players to regain, much lost confidence.
Now they should be able to go into the game and believe in their ability to win the game and keep the unbeaten run going.

Looking forward to this game, especially if it is anything like last seasons games against Stevenage. At home they were lucky to get away with a 4-2 scoreline. This was probably the best example i saw last year of why playing 'passing football' is not enough in this league. Stevenage played the ball around, i don't think their keeper kicked it out from his hands all game, he always threw it to one of his defenders, who passed it sideways to another defender, who passed it sideways etc. There were actually times when they passed the ball between them and then passed it into touch. They had absolutely zero penetration when they did this. Both of their goals came about when it was lumped forward. If they were prepared to mix it about a bit more the result might have been different. It has the possibilities of being a good game as they are usually a team who want to knock it around They also like to push forward, so it looks like there should be lots of space, several chances and a few goals (cue a 0-0). I would hope that the crowd is closer to 3000 than 2000 based on the opposition and our last few results and performances, however i do not expect many more than 2000 as we do have a rather fickle support at times It would be nice to get 3 points on Saturday and then another run of 4 successive wins would set us up nicely, bearing in mind who we play over the next 4/5 games.

I do not know how many away fans would be at the game, but I think 3000, is far to high a number to hope for. I think 2200, would be a good gate, we went down to 1500 then up 200 to 1700 and the last game up another 200 to 1900.
It should be a good game and results and a performance will play its part On building back up our gate to what we really should be getting,

Well Dave, Playing a 4-4-2 formation may give you a squad along the lines of Poke, Mansell, Robertson, Woods,Hodges, Carayol, Wroe, Hargreaves, Carlisle, Sills and Green. However, notable absentees include Thompson and Nicholson and wouldn't be surprised to see these two included, perhaps by putting Hodges into central defence and putting Green on around the hour mark Would like to see the crowd around the 2500 mark

Maybe a crowd attendence mini league is in order?
Who wants to run it lol?
Positions worked out on distance a way from final number?

Talking of crowds, a week or two ago in the Herald Express I noticed a table of the BSP average crowds for the BSP. I was quite amazed, considering our woeful crowds this season, we were still placed at 6th. highest average home crowd for the BSP. Our average home crowd is slightly over 2,000. Is there anywhere on-line you can check this ?
I'll be off to the match later with my brother from Germany, who only gets the chance to see us a couple of timer per season. So that's one extra today. I think we will just top 2,000.
As for the match, it may just tell us how much progress we've made in recent weeks. I think these next few weeks will either establish us as play-off material, or a mid-table team. I am feeling a lot more optimistic but I hope it's not a false dawn. Expect a match report early evening from me.

Football has been one of the main sufferers in the financial slowdown with crowds down across the board. I believe there are now only a handful of teams at any level who have not suffered, and those are the ones who sell a mass of season tickets anyway (Man Ure, Arsenal, etc). Horse racing attendances are also way down in case anyone was worried for the bookies, although the high street ones are opening shops in higher and higher numbers, so go figure!!
Only a couple of clubs who are either in a new higher division or performing well above what their local populus could have imagined are bringing in the crowds. Even Colchester, who have a new stadium to look at, are struggling to attract crowds because they are not performing well.
Add in the fact that we have barely played on a Saturday, have had our own struggles on the pitch, and have had a couple of our home games shown on TV, and the decline is no surprise at all.
People have far more important things to spend their money on at the moment, as it disappears from their pockets quicker than ever before, and it is econcomic fact that in such conditions it will always be 'leisure spending' that goes first.
Noticed the amount of pubs that are closing their doors as well? And that is not just down to the smoking ban, even if it did have an effect.

I believe there are now only a handful of teams at any level who have not suffered, and those are the ones who sell a mass of season tickets anyway (Man Ure, Arsenal, etc). Don't talk to me about Arsenal, I had a guy whingeing to me the other day that as the Gooners won't be going to "win the Premiershite" (judgement time before September is out again) and were "even starting to lose at home" he was going to sell his Club Level season ticket and wanted £2,000 for it.........................of course he wasn't going to come off the season ticket list as he would "give them another chance next season".He reminded me of that Harry Enfield character and it is because of one handed self lovers W.A.N.K.E.R.S. like him I've got no temptation to ever go down there. I think people should get in the mindset that they are going to enjoy their team for what it is......................warts and all; and in OUR case stop banging on about the BSP being tinpot and Godforsaken. Enjoy being a big fish in a small pool, as one of the bigger hitters in a national league. Enjoy being a part of a generally vibrant league as opposed to being surrounded by moribund clubs like Accrington, Macclesfield, Dagenham, Rochdale and Bury. It's hardly "Billy Big time" in League 2 is it? Don't get me wrong, I'll celebrate promotion like the rest of them, but I'm not going to sit in grim suspended animation until we achieve it....it might take ruddy years!

I hope that means we are not more of a Halifax / Rushden / Kidderminster than a Cambridge / York / Mansfield or a Colchester / Doncaster / Exeter. If you want Conference only, try here : www.tonykempster.co.uk/confatt.htm

What the tonykempster figures do seem to show is that the percentage reduction of attendees is greater at TUFC than any other club in the top 100. Not good.

A conversion on the Road to Damascus? BBC Devon (Dave Saunders) are giving us a proper commentary..............descriptive, factual and uninterrupted with NO stupid emails or texts from "people in Bovey Tracey" Have they been listening to views on here? ................and old Ken (I've never been to a rock concert) Furphy's back to caste a professional eye on matters - welcome back!

Saunders was doing Exeter, wasn't he? Cracking performance and result. Up to 8th and one point from a play off spot, with Crawley losing as well.
