Coops scored up the far end in the first half. The second half winner was right in front of us at the away end. Left back Phil Ferns sliced a clearance which looped up and over their 6'4" keeper and under the bar. We laughed and laughed at such a tall keeper getting "lobbed" by his own player and laughed even more when the Catweazle lookalike went absolutely mental at the goalscorer. Little did I know how many times I would see that keeper go mental at defenders - and what a TUFC legend he would become.

I remember the radio playing the Buzzcocks on the way home and it seemed like everyone on the coach joined in singing along. If Carlsberg did away trips .....

Tonight I watched the BBC 4 programme about Roxy Music, who in my opinion are the greatest group the world has ever seen. However, it was all about Bryan Ferry, with little or no mention of Andy Mackay, the best saxophone player of all time, or of Paul Thompson, Phil Manzanera or the original bass player, Graham Simpson. Very disappointed with what was supposed to be the history of the group, but which quickly became the life story of a would-be crooner. He would have been nothing without
the support of the original band members.
