What are you listening to?

Got a bit of a stiffy reading that! 

Throughout my childhood and probably for many years afterwards until the demise of TOTP, I used to look forward to the weekly charts. From time to time there were some very strange choices at number 1, including Ken Dodd, Benny Hill and particularly a dreadful song by someone called Joe Dolce. I'm sure that I could think of dozens of others if I could be bothered to spare the time.

I believe that it all changed when people were able to download records rather than buy them in the High Street stores. I understand that the Christmas number 1 is likely to be "We built this city on sausage rolls", as someone has recorded it on YouTube. No wonder I will keep saying that the last decent music heard in this country was by Oasis. That was well over twenty years ago and it makes me wonder what will be being played in another twenty years. Perhaps farmyard animals farting?
