20. Look At Yourself - Uriah Heep The title track of the album of the same name as Thomas The Vance The Music Vendor would have said. I remember my copy of the album having the portrait of a remarkably handsome young man on the cover. Chelston tells me that his copy had a picture of a miserable old got on it!

I remember my copy of the album having the portrait of a remarkably handsome young man on the cover. Chelston tells me that his copy had a picture of a miserable old got on it! ........"Very Clever......Very Subtle", Jon!....(a play on words of another Uriah Heep title!).......... ..........anyone of tender years wondering what Jon and I are on about - the original cover of the aforementioned "Look At Yourself" album had a sort of mirror built into the cover itself - erm, it was a very 70s thing!........ ..........on a separate issue, am currently loving the "deliberate?" sic of describing the Baron_Of_The_Bongos himself as a "miserable old got", Jon! - a cross 'tween a Goth and a git possibly? - the thought of the sainted Lord_Prog clad in Goth garb, including the sporting of a stovepipe hat and fingerless woollen mittens, miserably crouching over a candle for warmth whilst making lists of his albums with a quill pen on parchment, with cold, steamy breath emanating from his mouth in these frosty climes as he feverishly mutters to himself in strange, archaic tongues long-forgotten, obscure album track titles by Gentle Giant, Van Der Graaf Generator, Gong, Egg and Blackfoot Sue a la Scrooge or possibly even Uriah Heep himself warms these 'ere cockles proper well! - what a minds-eye picture!.............. - ideal........

..........on a separate issue, am currently loving the "deliberate?" sic of describing the Baron_Of_The_Bongos himself as a "miserable old got", Jon! - a cross 'tween a Goth and a git possibly? A got is a backward tog. Read the definition pasted below and tell me if it reminds you of anyone we know. Togginess is a state of mind recognised by many, as that feeling of being old before your time. In this light, TOGs are famous for their fierce resentment of anybody younger than themselves reflected in exclamations such as 'They don't know they're born!' and 'Clear off, you young limb!'
Another tell-tale sign of a TOG is a flat cap and an inexplicable penchant for driving their Volvos in the centre lane of the motorway at 60mph. TOGs may also be recognised by their use of such arcane phrases as 'Is it me?', the self-pitying, 'I never saw a bar of chocolate until I was fourteen', the perplexed, 'Why did I come upstairs again?'

......this is a very informative site if one is "interested" in record labels from the 60s/70s........ www.my-generation.org.uk/labels.htm...personally, I rather like the Charisma one - I certainly have some Genesis LPs with this on.......... ...of course, one of the most memorable was, imho, the mighty Swan Song Records one, made famous by Zep...... www.examiner.com/images/blog/EXID39490/images/physical-graffiti-42.jpg ..........I have no doubt my learned friends Jon and the Progmeister_General_Chelston_Command himself, Mr_Phil_Chelstongull will come up with some of their own faves as well?......... .......currently playing - Bread - Look What You've Done/Aubrey/Diary..........
