A real six point relegation scrap this game must surely be billed as and a win with results going our way elsewhere would make up for the two points we dropped at home to Crewe in our last game.
Did I read Rob post some believe Bucks is playing only for draws at home? It’s a one win situation being a football manager, make changes and then concede a late goal he gets the blame for not leaving the team as it was, make no changes and yes it is his fault again. I believe with 20 minutes to go holding on to a one goal lead players get it into their head to try and just hold onto what they have got, as a result they end up dropping deeper and then come under greater pressure and so often as a result let in a late goal.
Once again I can’t see Bucks making any changes to the team that started against Crewe and I’m sure Mark Ellis would have learned a valuable lesson last week when he gave away a penalty but apart from that blip he and Branston have look on the whole solid playing together.
I said at the start of the season I felt our best combination up front was Rendell and Benyon and I still believe that and while I have cried out in games when Rendell was injured to have Zebs playing up front, Zebs played really well against Crewe out on the wing and I expect that is where he will remain for this game and maybe until the end of the season.
Its not going to be a stroll in the park, Lincoln need the points a s badly as we do, but if we play like we did against Crewe in the first half for the whole 90 minutes, then I feel the three points should be ours.
We drew nil all up at their place and jmgull posted this just after the final whistle
Another point, a great performance by the sounds of it.
Another week goes by without a win.
Gutted but proud!
Let’s hope we feel very proud when the ref blows the whistle for the final time on Saturday.

A must win if you ask me, especially with some tough games coming fast and think after this one.
Hopefully the fans can cheer the lads on to bigger things on saturday!

Gutted but proud ;D If ever 3 words summed up a lifelong addiction for the gulls eh! I actually think it's more a case of a must not lose job dave. I would happily take 10 draws from now to put this season to bed! Lincoln have definitely picked up since we played them, they were in the middle of a terrible run i recall. Very winnable game though.......being confident of one with this current side aint easy mind

Like jmgull, I agree it's a must not lose job, but it would be nice to start getting a bit more daylight after a fixture like this. I can't see Buckle making any changes either.

I believe with 20 minutes to go holding on to a one goal lead players get it into their head to try and just hold onto what they have got, as a result they end up dropping deeper and then come under greater pressure and so often as a result let in a late goal. This is exactly what has happened and is a problem which must be addressed urgently, as so many goals have been conceded in the latter stages of games. I recall that from time to time this season the manager has stated that the defence have put themselves under pressure in this way, so why is it such a persistent fault ? I believe that when a team leads by a single goal and is on top in a game, then surely the best policy is to keep the back line pushed up, carry on playing in the attacking half and strive to score a second ? We had three efforts cleared off the line during Saturday's game, not to mention an effort by Zebroski when he should have scored or at least shot across the keeper where Rendell was unmarked. You would have thought that these near misses would have given our players the confidence to believe that they would eventually tie up the game, but instead they resorted to the fatal "hold what we have" mindset and this has to change if draws are to be turned into wins.

Just looking at the league table. Its a long shot but 3 points for you and other results working in your favour could put you up to 17th! God luck guys.

I'm sort of confused here. So, the players are going for draws when we're a goal up? And that's why we're not holding onto a lead? Right, in that case either the manager has instructed them to or they arn't doing what he said. Or they don't listen to what Buckle is saying and do what they want. Or Buckle doesn't know what to do when we're defending a lead. Any angle you view this doesn't put the manager in a good light.
No problem, the easter bunny will be here soon for the fluffy Buckle lovers.
Dear god i can't wait for this season to end. Hopefully we'll still be in L2. I believe we will, but no thanks to our Nero.

I will not respond to crap postings, I will not respond to crap postings, I will not................................................ DTG I think everyone now realises that you have some weird sense of humour and when bored you just come on here to throw a little hand grenade and then disapear again. I even like to give the benefit of the doubt sometimes and really thought you had more football knowledge than the stupid "play for a draw" statement. One day you will see the bigger picture and realise when survival is confirmed that we have come through one hell of a season in tact and still operating. The sad part of all this is you and "your mates" will never be happy--wherever we are in the league!!! I will set my alarm to read your sat am posting.........." we must beat this lot today or else" then "if we lose today another protest march will be organised here in the Red Lion in Thailand blah blah blah" now where was I..............I will not respond to crap postings, I will not respond to crap postings, I will not................................................

Yes this is a case of must not lose but also we do have to try and win "some" games and surely with Lincoln struggling and just above us this is a far more manageable target than the next couple of home games, Shrewsbury and Rochdale. Lincoln dont really play with much width at the moment so will be a bit like us against Dagenham recently. We obviously need goals as one usually isnt enough so get the ball out wide to Carlisle/Zebroski and hope they can get the right crosses to the two forwards. If it doesnt work upfront then bring Carayol on and put Zeb up front. Although they have a youngster (Somma) on loan who has scored a few goals they will not have Drewe Broughton playing, that barn door has been recalled by Rotherham Torquay to win 2-1, yes another late goal....

Better a late goal than no goals mate. Id take late goals all season long if it won us matches.

This looks like a must win game to me. Three points here and we will be breathing a whole lot easier. I can see Grimsby beating Bournemouth so we really need to get a win on the board in this one.

We would indeed but even one point would not be a disaster if results went our way elsewhere. You do feel we are due a good win at home and this game does represent a good opportunity you would think. Don't want to be leaving the ground yet again on a Saturday afternoon feeling gutted we let in a late goal after being in a wining position. I think we will need to be two goals up at least with five minutes to go before I would feel we had the game won and what we must not do is just sit back on a one goal lead and get deeper and deeper as we know only to well what happens when we do that.

Wayno looks set to miss Saturday after a flare up of his knee injury. Gutting. I expect Kane-O will deputise.

Longie, i was being fascetious. But so as not to disappoint, set yer watch mate. Of course most of you apologists will be flip flapping with delight with a draw and merson will be extolling the tactical genius Buckle used to grab the draw out of the jaws of victory. I will not be happy. Win, win, win. 3 points, performance blah blah blah! Said it all before and ended frustrated by the result. 9 more points and we can relax a bit and forget this shit season.

Of course most of you apologists will be flip flapping with delight with a draw I would take a draw now coupled with a Grimsby defeat. One point closer to safety. How we must be ruing that home defeat to Grimsby last September - would have been virtually safe. Oh well.
