I think I can with confidence predict we will win this game, why? well because the TFF will be having its third matchday carvary game and we have won both the games when we have held them before. Still time to get your name down by the way and we would love to see a few more joining us.
Will there be any new players for this game? that is the big the question, if not then will Bucks stick with the same side and keep the same formation? or will he change things as it will be a home match.

Different opposition requires different thinking which can quite often result in a different formation and line-up, lots of variations to consider! Who have they got out injured, who will play for them, what formation they will use given the players avaliable to them, being at home opposed to away requires different thinking and approach, what the weather is going to do on the day, how the pitch is playing! People think for some reason that the only thing the manager has to worry about is picking his starting eleven, no-one gives consideration to the fact that even players moods, state of mind and motivation come into the equation. It ain`t a poxy computer game by E/A Sports, it`s real life I`m afraid and very complex it is!

Now is the time to go for broke.
northampton score a lot away from home but have also let in a fair few. Time to get Jake thompson on the right, Carlisle on the left and Sills & Rendell up front to feed off the crosses. rendell looked the part against chesterfield on day 1 and Carlisle has quality in his finishing and crossing. so I`m a little puzzled why they havn`t been used more.
Anyone any ideas why Benyon keeps getting the nod ahead of Rendell or when he gets a chance is taken off at half time?

I agree with that buster, get at them with crosses raining in and lets end this bloody awful run.
Poke Nicholson-Charnock-Robertson-Mansell Carlisle-Wroe-Thompson (T)-Thompson (J) Sills-Rendell
That would be my team, barring any sudden transfer activity???
Akinfatwat will obviously be a bloody nuisance and score one but hopefully we will score more than them.... ;D

I don't know, but I've got this feeling we now have the perfect chance to try out a proper 3-5-2 formation. We all know Nicho's delivery is superb, and if Thomson's is as good as I am led to believe as well, we could just opt for this....a properly attacking formation in my eyes
----------------------Poke-------------------------- --------Robbo------Ellis---------Charnock------- -Thomson-----------------------------Nicholson-- ----------------Mansell----Wroe------------------- --------------------Carlisle-------------------------- ----------------Sills----------Benyon---------------
I've always fancied that Carlisle could do a good job roaming behind the front two. Or Ty Thompson could play the role as well. If Thomson is as good a right wing-back as the Trinidad & Tobago fans feel, then why not play him there.

Can't see the skipper getting axed. 4-4-2 Mansell, Robbo, Charnock, Nicholson; Thomson, Wroe, Hargreaves, Carlisle; Sills, Benyon is what I am expecting. Still time for another new face, though. I do hope we can sort out Brough recall from Stevenage as that will hamper getting someone else in.

I don't know, but I've got this feeling we now have the perfect chance to try out a proper 3-5-2 formation. Judging by the manager's comments and taking all the work they put into training last week, I don't think we'll be seeing a return to the 3 at the back system particularly with an opponent like Akinfenwa up against us; a player who needs to be particularly well marked and with three at the back there is too much decision making to be made to risk letting him free in the box.

Northampton are a bit of an oddity…
Away from home they have the best strike rate in our league, having scored an average of 1.86 goals per game but have only hit the net in 29% of these games. On the other hand their defence away from home is the second worst in our league having shipped an average of 2.29 goals per game and only keeping a clean sheet in 14% of away games. In fact away games in which Northampton Town have been involved in average 4.14 goals per game, the highest in League Two.
We have a home strike rate of one goal per game, putting us in 20th place in the league and have failed to score in 29% of these games, whereas we’ve conceded an average of 1.29 goals per game at home giving us the 14th worse home record in this area, and have only kept a clean sheet in 14% of home matches.
So.. it’s either 0-0 or a high scoring game!

Chris Kanyuka Back in the summer I'm sure I mentioned a central defender on here my partner tipped me off about who she knew who had lost his contract at Swindon Town....................they had played a bit sly with him over recurring injury issues and only offered him a short term deal to get fit again and then withdrew the offer he'd had of a longer one if he proved himself. He started out at Leyton Orient as a kid and now I see he is in line to play for Northampton against us on Saturday.

Anybody know our longest non winning run? The longer the run goes o the more likely we will win a match - if that makes any sense so I dont see why we cant break that sequence tomorrow. A warm welcome will await Akinburgereater or Big Macinfenwa as I call him and I fancy with a man marking job from Danny Stevens he wont get a look in at the snack wagon!!

Disapointed he didnt re-sign and had some good seasons at Swansea on the rise We all know what a threat he can be but plays for the opposition now so is fair game for some sensible ribbing tomorrow.

Our longest sequence without a win is nineteen games from the 23rd September 2006, having beaten Mansfield at home 1-0 the previous weekend, until the 20th January 2007 when we then beat Grimsby 4-1 at home. This won't surprise many considering it was during that season.... As most will know during that run we actually progressed through the first two rounds of the cup and then lost at home to Southampton.
Our longest sequence of league draws is eight from the 25th of October until the 13th of September 1969 when we went and ruined it all by losing 6-0 at Home Park!

That is right - 19 League games, as you say interrupted by FA Cup wins. The record in all competitive games (all league games by the way) is 17 - between beating Swindon on 26 February 1938 and Bristol City on 17 September 1938.

Reading todays Herald Express it does sound like bucks is planning to start the game with Jake Thomson, so will he play Stevens on the left wing as he plays better on that side, or does he keep Carlisle in the side as he has been one of our better players this season.
I expect it will be four across the back, does he bring back the unhappy Ellis? if he does then I believe it it be Robertson who will drop down to the bench.
Sills is sure to start and Benyon will get the nod I feel over Rendell, but I would start Rendell and have Benyon on the bench.
