Nice to be welcomed on here and good to see a site set up that I reckon will be a proper forum untainted by the power crazed antics of those who would wish to go further than moderate in the cause of control, self importance and a pathetic wish to be seen as some sort of "confident" of the club. I take my hat off to you Dave (and your son) for grasping the nettle, and having the brains to actually get a site up and running which I for one certainly do not!

Thank you for those kind words Merse, I want this site to run like the old .net we loved so much. Brains? well i have never done this before, but I think the site looks OK, I will learn as I go along. Please note if you or any posters are not happy with anything on the site, there will be no need for private PMS only. Just posts you views on the board and I will see what can be done.

I like that one....."confidents of the club"!!
Is that how they see themselves now.....privy to information that is not available to the menials!!
My, my...such visions of grandeur ;D

They are pathetic with I know this & I know that but I can't tell you on here, What exactly do they think is going to happen if they say what players we are trying to sign on the forum, it's like if they do then the deal will be messed up because another club just happens to read dotnet & might now try & sign that player, Do they not know that players all have agents & will be touting them around every club they can. They do it to make themselves think they are important, the truth is they will look utter fools if the signing doesn't come off. Any info I get from the club I will happily share on here, my info has always been 100% as me old man will vouch.

When you have an ego the size of ..... The Torquay Balloon, then you have to keep it inflated with little bits of this & that from hearsay! 3.48: Hi... Colin here, just thought you might like to know but we will be signing xxxxx soon 3.49: That's great news Colin, is he on a free? 3.50: Oh no, between you and me we are paying £xxxx for him 3.51: Gosh Colin, have we got that much in the kitty? 3.52: No, but we are selling xxxxx and also making xxxx redundant so it will be okay 3.53: Okay Colin, can I tell all my friends? 3.54: No, not at the moment, it is our secret! 3.55: Jeeze, thanks for letting me in on it Colin, I will just say nothing but pretend to know something, is that okay Colin? 3.56: Okay by me. Bye for now 3.57: Bye Colin, thanks Colin, super Colin .....oh....Colin who are you? ...... bother, he's hung up! ;D ;D ;D

I love how they get a "snippet" put two and two together and translate "a former manager" as Leroy rather than Paul Compton who will be unveilled on Friday!

Another 'snippet' for you then.....from an inside source who I cannot name for obvious reasons.... ;D .... the club are already having trouble with the soon to be announced builder shirt sponsors for 1 year only based in Salisbury, which is why the HE reported CL was on his way there for a commercial meeting. solicitors involved perhaps...or not??

I think that is man is just not liked very much. We all know what happened on .net a while ago. Not so worried what he said on the boards, but if is so called PM threats are to be believed, thats worrying.

Don't know about the pm business....but I am sure that Merse will be able to stretch his brain back and recollect things that went on in the Bateson era with this person! Even I seem to remember him being banned from Plainmoor on more than one occasion?

Don't know about the pm business....but I am sure that Merse will be able to stretch his brain back and recollect things that went on in the Bateson era with this person! Even I seem to remember him being banned from Plainmoor on more than one occasion? I think lessons should be learned and events be allowed to take their own course on this one. It was a rather long time ago that there was a so called "banning" from Plainmoor from Mike Bateson - even longer than when I was told my presence at home matches was "no longer welcome", and things move on. As in all these things, there is often a degree of "urban myth" when the actual nitty gritty of the matter is examined; although personal grievances often linger far longer than actual conflict with the club. It was the level of terrace abuse promoted on .net that emanated from sections of the Yellow Army at Weymouth this season that prompted the latest conflict between some on that site and edit who came charging in to take issue with little followers who directed a stream of foul mouthed abuse at Setanta, Paul Parker and Emma Lowe............abuse that dissuaded a prospective future sponsor of the club from participating when he witnessed such abuse being directed at the TV company and quite rightly didn't fancy laying HIS own company open to such vitriol in the future. This degenerated into an abusive war of words between certain posters (some who have a personal dislike of Sean) when it was forecast that City Link Builders (his company) might be the sponsors of the club for next seasonedit ......... a war of words that led to Colin Lee telling edit to stick his £100 a year sponsorship of the CE right where the sun definitely won't be shining this summer! I can't pretend to have personally liked all the individuals who have pumped money and assistance into the club over my many years both supporting and indeed working for the club, but that is and remains a personal matter and it would have been wrong for me to jeopardise any monetary input that is so vital to the club over a personal feeling....................and I feel that is what we should all be doing in matters such as this. This is the point Colin Lee was making, and I would imagine that last week's "visit to Salisbury" was no more than an employee of the club ensuring that a potential club sponsor was happy enough to commit himself and his money to OUR (and his) football club and let's hope those appalling people who mindlessly and thoughtlessly abuse those who put their money where their mouth's are at least attempt to put their brains into gear before their mouth's are opened or keyboards punched in the future in what is little more than base abuse. Let's hope too, that those certain individuals who choose self promotion and self importance over the better good of the football club are quickly marginalised and moved to the periphery of life at Plainmoor and the grounds we visit next season!

Merse I think you will find the last "banning" under Bateson was about 2 years ago, a steward I know thought he was still on the list!!

I must confess Merse, I know very little about S.m. during the m.Batesons years. I was on line the night on .net when it all kicked off, these are my views only about that night.
I would say that we have Setanta, have enjoyed the courage. At the time of the Weymouth game(Iwas not there) the club had made a statement to the local press, stating the Monday night games were losing them £10.000.
Also the results when we were on the TV were not good. Its easy to see why fans felt that Setanta were not helping the club.
That night SM was very aggressive to wards the posters on the board. If the PMs that SG claims he received were true, then they were simple very threating to wards family and children.
As I don.t know the full history, I can't give my views on what our owners should do, but if the history was really bad, should the club have him as a sponsor.
I know nothing was posted that night ,that was really bad by the fans, I feel the club had no right to stop fans having their point of view. Well you know what I think about free speech Merse ;D ;D ;D
