So Christmas is just about upon us and although it would have been nice to have 30 points going into the festive period, four games in eight days should hopefully see us there and beyond. Saying that, the cold weather is here to stay until the turn of the New Year so I wouldn't be surprised to see a couple of these games postponed! Cheltenham are a mere one point behind us and it is against this type of opponent that we need to win to cement our place in the play offs. Last time out Cheltenham lost at home against Southend but have won three of their last five away matches against Aldershot (0-2), Accrington (2-4) and Macclesfield (0-2) and will be looking to bounce back but encouraging have yet to win consecutively away. Wesley Thomas looks like the man to watch with nine goals so far. As far as I am aware, Buckle has a full squad to pick from and as alluded to on the Rotherham thread (4 pages from a postponed match ;D), Kee must be knocking on the door to start in a 4-4-2 formation. COYY and Merry Christmas to everyone on this site.

After the last two home games being called off, the club won’t want this game to suffer the same fate and will do everything in its power to make sure it goes ahead. The forecast could cast a few clouds over that happening and all we can do is keep our fingers crossed.
I can’t remember the last time Plainmoor was full for a Boxing Day, or New Years Day match, but I would hope we see at least 4000+ for this game and also the next home game against Oxford. Two decent home gates will do much to help the clubs cash flow that has suffered as a result of the matches that were called off.
Once again I’m looking forward to see the loan players in action I have not seen yet and being on the Popside to chat with fellow TFF members. I expect I will be in the family stand for the Oxford game with Lewis and his family.
Still hoping Bucks will start with two up front, Elliot and Billy, but as I know little about the Cheltenham players or the way the team plays, I’ll trust Bucks to play the formation he believes will secure the win for us.
Lets hope we all come home really happy from the game after getting the three points and witnessing a great display by the team.

I'm really hoping to get down for this game but obsticles are getting in the way. Snow, Hannah's chest infection, Grace's influenza etc etc. Oh well, I'll be there, even if the family aren't with me. the things we have to do as fans

A quick look at the five day forecast suggests daytime temperature on boxing day of 6 C with previous night time temperatures only just touching zero with the weather warming up after Christmas. Hopefully this will be enough for the match to go ahead.

The forecast I heard this morning, said there would not be a thaw until Boxing Day. The only concerning issue for me is, Torbay must be nearly the only place in Devon, not under a blanket of snow.
As we know snow on a pitch acts like a thermal blanket and without such a covering, the pitch will just freeze completely. I just took a look at Galmtons pitch and it is covered in frost and looked very frozen.
I can't see the club wanting to do a pitch inspection on Christmas day and therefore any pitch inspection might not happen until Boxing Day itself.
Lets hope the pitch will be playable as getting to a game on Boxing day is going to be hard enough for many traveling fans and the last thing they are going to want, is to have to turn around again and go back home.

I think you must have hit-the-bottle early Dave if you think there will be 4000+ at Plainmoor on Sunday...2000+ maybe! And as for Kee and Benyon starting together...I can't remember the last time we started a match 4-4-2 !

Is there any end to your fluffiness Dave? You trust buckle to get it right and a win? This is something he keeps failing to do and shows no sign of getting right. Let's hope he flukes a win sooner rather than later before he drives home crowds under 2000.
I really hope none of the next few games fall foul to the prat who called off the last one. We've a run of 3PM kick offs which means I get to listen to them. If they are off then they will be midweek 7.45's and I ain't getting up in the middle of the night unless we're on telly!

I would expect Cheltenham to put between 6 to 800 on top of our usual paltry 2000 - 2400 including strays and lost souls for this one. Lets all have a guess - My guess 3,172

Is there any end to your fluffiness Dave? The answer is a big NO Dave, top man doing a very good job with limited resources and we are lucky to still have him here.
