With only one update on .com since the 18th of the month that was put up today asking for bar staff for the Boxing game day match, do we take it the pitch passed its inspection.   |

With only one update on .com since the 18th of the month that was put up today asking for bar staff for the Boxing game day match, do we take it the pitch passed its inspection. It looks like it passed. There has been a further post within the last twenty minutes giving the opening times over Christmas and states the club is open at 11am on Sunday for the game against Cheltenham, and BBC Radio Devon website shows the Sunday rugby fixture Bath v Exeter being off because of a frozen pitch but give match details for Torquay v Cheltenham. Bloody temperature seems to have dropped alarmingly again though in last hour and I can't check my garden as I've got a few inches of solid ice on top, but then I'm not living in sunny Torquay!! ;D |

Nothing on the official site which leads me to think that United will gamble and insist on a Boxing day morning inspection regardless of the forecast and financial implications of another postponement. Still no sign of a thaw in Ivybridge either   Bloody temperature seems to have dropped alarmingly again though in last hour and I can't check my garden as I've got a few inches of solid ice on top, but then I'm not living in sunny Torquay!! ;D |

I shall be driving past Ivybridge on Saturday morning, I'll let you know. I have spoken with the H&SE who inform me that the TFF welfare officer's Draw bridge has passed the inspection but can't be lowered if ice can still be seen floating on the moat. Touch and go for Boxing Day. |

The drawbridge was up and so I was unable to enter the castle. Thanks to the wonderful 30x zoom lens on my camera, I was able to zoom in on the tower and guess who was spying over it.   |

Dave your slipping mate, the fluffy bunny was far superior. That looks like someones thrown Steves inflated head off the tower! Your talents for superimposing have diminished some what. I hope he doesn`t land on those ducks at the bottom, he might just quack the ice!
P.s. I`m not insinuating that Steve has an inflated head before anyone starts!

The Robins fans recon that this Tanner bloke that is meant to ref on Sunday hates them and aren`t too happy with his appointment, well if memory serves then he hasn`t done us many favours either! Will it boil down to the Kerswell frustration factor that he swings their way or will he be neutral because it`s Christmas. I recon their all consistantly poor at our level and below but what can you do when so many of them get the stick that gets hurled at them, this would naturally decrease the numbers of refs to choose from and thus lowering the standards of refereeing over-all! It`s a job I did once and would never like to do it again. It`s a sort of self harming exercise!

Won't be worrying about the ref because I don't think this game has a hope of going ahead - of course we want it on but the forecast is actually worse than ever for tonight. Its been freezing for a week and its actually going to be colder than ever tonight, so can anyone tell me how on earth this match is going to go ahead?
Expect it to be called off first thing on boxing day.
