Won't be worrying about the ref because I don't think this game has a hope of going ahead - of course we want it on but the forecast is actually worse than ever for tonight. Its been freezing for a week and its actually going to be colder than ever tonight, so can anyone tell me how on earth this match is going to go ahead? Expect it to be called off first thing on boxing day. Now that there is going to be a 9.30am pitch inspection on Boxing Day, I fear you may be right. I just picked the washing in for Carol and it was frozen on the line. If it is called off and with the Bury game already off, we had better hope things improve weather wise for the Oxford game. I can see the league having to extend the season at this rate.

Paul Buckle was reported to be in a state of depression after learning today that the match against Bury has now been called off. He then was told a pitch inspection was now planned for the home Boxing Day match at 9.30am. He left home and it is understood he may have headed for the snow covered moors to sit on his favorite bench. He has not been seen for the last seven hours, but a passing motorist took this picture and sent it into the news deck. There has been no formal identification made at this time, but it is believed that the frozen figure on the bench is Paul Buckle. We will bring you any further updates, as and when they come in.

Yeah but with temperatures forecast to plunge as low as -8c on Christmas day night/Boxing day morning........the pitch will still be frozen solid at the 9.30 am inspection. This game has as much chance of going ahead as a night of passion with the queen mother.....

I went out for a short while at 8pm this evening and everything was white. Its meant to be colder tomorrow might I believe. Dear dear me, looks like I'm going to have to check the time those nutters go for a Boxing Day swim here in Paignton.

News has just come in that an air ambulance was flown to the bench up on the Moors that Paul Buckle was believed to be sitting on. A successful rescue was made and Paul Buckle has been taken to the specialist antifreeze unit at Bristol Hospital. The doctors can not say at this time if he will still be frozen at 9.30am on Boxing day, but we will do our best to keep you all informed as soon as we know anything. Check back soon for further updates.

My garden failed a 9.30 inspection, a 12pm one, a 3pm one, in fact its been rock solid all day and covered in frost. Anyone up for a Boxing day swim in Paignton? Might be all there will be to do tomorrow

The river is frozen from side-to-side either side of Exe Bridge causing all sorts of grief for the swans and the local gulls.

[Crisp, I would say sums it up nicely! Odd readings on my temperature gauge this morning: 98.10 A (157.00 E). What can this mean? Oh, here we are - on the balcony in Exeter, remember - minus 10.0C (warmer in the bay?).
