Didn't Sham69 get their name from some graffiti in Walton and Hersham station urinary? The only thing that was left in-erased by urine from the original 'Hersham 69' was the last 4 letters and the two numbers. I think that's it - do I win five pounds?! Almost. A Walton and Her(sham 69)/70 fixture poster was the version I heard.

Stiff Little Fingers man myself SLF - definitely! (said with suitable Belfast accent). A quick burst of "Alternative Ulster" would do nicely next time Eunan scores. The Barton Downs name goes with attending Barton Junior School (1960-1967) and occasionally playing on the downs (especially with a freind who lived in one of the Lichfield Avenue prefabs). I actually lived the other side of Lummaton Quarry down off Happaway Road. Just a stone's throw - or quarry rock blast (and I'm not joking) - from Barton Downs but a long walk around.

Our chances of winning this game would increase I feel if Guy Branston is able to play in it. I’m sure Mark Ellis would be glad to have Guy back by his side and I do feel Marks positional awareness that was very wayward against Oxford, would greatly improve.
There is always a danger if a players returns to quickly from injury of losing him for more matches. I would not for one second suggest if he does play it was too soon, or that he would be risked due to importance of this game, but I do wonder. We all know a win and that draw we all want in the next round, would set this club up for a good number of years.
Would losing Guy for three or four leagues game really matter if he made the real difference in the cup game and as a result we got through to the next round? Knowing what a win could do for the clubs finances I would take that as at this given time, we are not in any danger of going down.
I think the key to winning the game is very hard work and closing them down as soon as they have the ball. You would expect them to be that bit better than us with the ball and we need to stop them playing the game they want to play.
Get in their faces and not let them settle on the ball and get the ball out wide as often as we can and get our wingers running at them and getting the ball into their box and we will stand a good chance of being in the hat for round four.

I hope the weather forecast for tomorrow is accurate and its mostly a dry day. The rain tonight is falling very heavy from the sky in the Bay. I can see many local games being called off if this rain carries on through the night and if so they might help boost the gate.

I am going - been up for work since four this morning, just got home. Could say its a busy old day. I am off to Merton for midday for a top of the table clash in the North Devon League. One of my two boys is out though as he has a temperature of 101! Then its on down to Plaimoor via okehampton. Our biggest game of the season by a mile - lets not forget. there is 100k odd running on the result of this. This is the FA Cup third round - lets hope we get a few more thru the gate. I really hope we go for it this afternoon and don't regret losing 1-0 playing one striker up front. If Branno is fit I would actually leave O'Kane out, playing Robbo at right back and putting Mansell in midfield wth Kee alongside Benyon. We have got a decent chance of getting to the fourth round here - lets hope we do it.

That sure sounds a busy day alunmeerkat, drive safely its better to miss a few minutes of the game than end up in hospital. While I would want to see the line up that you would like to see, I can't see Bucks changing it much from the Oxford game.
Lets hope no matter what formation we start with, we end up this evening discussing our win and who we would like in the next round.

I would have thought it would be more appropriate to play "Hurry Up Harry" just before half-time to remind Popsiders to get one in at Boots and Laces. I enjoyed playing the clip by the way , Barton Downs, when music was a little more interesting and varied.
As for the match I am a lot more optimistic if Branston plays, and I agree that i would like to see Mansell back in midfield.

I can't see any changes to the formation despite getting the one single win since we adopted it at home. Perhaps it will bring some benefits today - I think if the game is open then Carlisle should come away with a victory, if the game is tight then perhaps we can sneak it. As Swangull says, having Branston back would be a boost and I would also like to see Robertson at right-back again and Mansell in the middle after last week. Today is definately a day for getting behind the team right to the final whistle regardless of selection, formation etc.
At least if we win this tie there would be some decent money £67k for the prize money and whatever the gate receipts are. This could have a really positive impact on the remainder of the season and the short to medium term future of the club - defeat would surely result in a particularly worrying January and beyond....

Its a very bright and sunny afternoon here in the Bay and a perfect day for a game of football and a great cup upset. I have made no secret of the fact I have been enjoying my Saturday afternoons watching local football and mainly because I can combine my other love photography into the bargain.
I also most bust into the song " take that look off your face" as Ant left to go and play his game. Marldon has not lost a single game since I started watching them this season and they had better win today or else I'll get the blame for sure ;D
Our club needs all the support it can get today and I'm duty bound to be up at Plainmoor trying to do all I can to help our boys onto victory. So sorry to the Marldon players who read the TFF over the weekend to read my match reports on their game, my club needs me today.

Chris,
Definately started 4-4-2 with Elliot and Zebs up front. Got too excited to notice if it stayed that way but I think it did for the most of the game.

What a fantastic performance today by all the team - if we'd played Chelsea or Liverpool today we would have beaten them (mind you, who would wouldn't!)

Well out of the 1000's of Football Clubs in England we are one of only 40 odd (replays and Sunday games awaited to reduce it to 32) who can actually win the FA Cup this season!! ;D
