link - a big blow for the women in their build up to the start of the season in just a few weeks with 5 players going off injured during their PSF with Sherborne. Hopefully they are not too seriously hurt and I wish them all a speedy recovery. On a plus side I see that 19 players are now listed on TUWFC website which is an increase on last year and gives them a bit more leeway.

After watching the men, the women start the season tomorrow at 2pm, entry half the price of watching the men on line. I could not make the game today but hope to go next week. Although it ended in a disappointing 0-5 loss, mainly due to MAPLFC controlling the second half, their comments were it was a much improved performance from our team and a hard fought win. Not sure how the pre-season injuries impacted on the team but know there were three key players missing last week which is massive in a small squad. We seem to be moving in the right direction but obviously still a way to go.....

Pleased to report a comprehensive 4-0 win for the women to go through to the next round of the FA Cup. Unfortunately, could only get to the ground for the second half so missed the first three goals Good goal scored by number 19 Freya on the left wing, cutting back inside to rifle the ball home at the near post. Almost scored a minute later but their keeper made a good save with her foot to divert the ball just wide. General thoughts are it is a very young side with a lot of teenagers playing. The passing has improved and we were able to get behind the opposition defence quite a few times. However, I may be being a bit harsh as they were four up but the finishing could have been better. Shots with just the keeper to beat were either going wide or being saved, we are talking about five or six chances, no one tried to round their keeper for example who had a good game. When Culdrose did threaten our keeper Alina was up for the challenge and proved why she is highly rated. Number 5 Nicola was her normal consistent self. Hopefully this form can be taken back to the league where we struggled last year.
