The news from this is getting progressively worse, the impact on so many levels could be devastating. However, from a footballing prospective, I see people at other football grounds are now wearing face masks and the Italy match at the six nations has been postponed.
Could we see matches either at Plainmoor or even in the play offs be affected? Watch this space.....

Only a matter of time it seems, so Alpine Towers now has a cupboard stocked up with Pot Noodles. The nation's school children were packed off en masse to spend half term at Europe's coronavirus HQ (Italy), then the little blighters have come back and met up in their thousands, those infected with those not, squeezed together in order to churn up College Green in order to watch Saint Greta shivering in the winter rain, while proclaiming the 'World's on fire'.
The Government having taken no serious steps to stop its arrival in the UK, as evidenced by the 'You could try washing your hands a bit more often, see if that helps' resigned tone, indicates that we should be under no illusion as to what's to come, and to foresee for ourselves that changes and upheaval are bound to follow. TFF members concerned that Hector could be knocking on our door seeking asylum very soon, are justified in demanding that Administrators at least test him for Corvid-19 before they even consider letting him in. However small the preventative step, and it may be futile in the face of a global pandemic, it's worth considering, as coronavirus seems destined to have a big impact on far more than the Stock Market.

link - now gone from 23 to 35 cases in a day and more worryingly second person in the south east has caught it from within the uk. Still in the containment phase but next phase could see “social distancing measures” implemented and what impact will this have on football?

Don't get the last offering, must be more geriatric than I thought. Shame, because I really like that song, but cannot see the connection.
As for Alpine's pot noodles, nothing would be more guaranteed to inflict on me a long period of sickness, and I would be sticking to bags of Wotsits, mmmm.
If the outcome of this epidemic is that the rest of the Six Nations, the remainder of the football season, the Grand National, the London Marathon, the Test Match series, Euro 2020 and the Olympics are all called off, then it will be a small price to pay, far better safe than sorry.
It will get a lot worse before it gets better, I have no doubt about that, and two things worry me most. Firstly, all sorts of people will be coming here, a major tourist area, from April onwards. Secondly, how will the medical experts know for certain that the virus has died so that normal life can be resumed?

It may not go away at all and remain like a seasonal cold getting worse in the winter. The trick will be getting a vaccine ready, maybe by next winter.

it looks as if half term finished us. And instead of the filthy unhygienic working class spreading this, it's the middle class and their kids who went to Europe, and Italy in particular, that have brought it back and really given it traction. Then immediately they're back, tens of thousands of the Olivia's and Henry's cram together in Bristol, before then dispersing again to all corners of the UK. Not the faintest hope of knowing or tracing who was rubbing shoulders and breathing over you.
In the short term the best advice is surely to stay out of Waitrose, where for the moment I'd expect a greater number of coronavirus carriers to be present in even one of their smallest stores than in a 2000+ crowd at Plainmoor. I'm off to buy more pot noodles from Lidl, where it's a pretty safe bet my fellow shoppers haven't been to Italy with their kids for half term, or have middle class neighbours who've been telling them how good the cuisine and shopping was in Milan.
If only we'd deported all the Remain voters to their beloved EU in the months immediately after the Referendum result was known. We would (literally) be able to breath far easier now. This major dose of globalism is about to unleash it's consequences, and could play havoc with far more than the fixture list.

I did joke last night with other family members that it is hard to drink it though while wearing a mask!

Good example of appropriate timing for an TV advert by KFC, who are now employing people to revel in sucking their revolting grease off their fingers.

A strong lead from the top is what's needed in a crisis, and I've heard that our Chairman, Uncle Clarke, has already volunteered to self-isolate himself from Plainmoor. This is the sort of sacrifice for the greater good that deserves to be strongly applauded. What is not getting such a warm reception is the announcement today that updates regarding the location of new coronavirus outbreaks will be withheld and only reported once a week (I think the Authorities have decided on Fridays to divulge the information). News management considerations getting the better of free dissemination of information it appears. What do you do if you'd far rather be at home self-isolating, but find you have to go out anyway ? Social media is already providing examples of those not content with trusting a simple nose and mouth mask. No doubt a bigger variety, and some ingenious devices will be on display over the coming months.

I don't get all this nonsense about self-isolation...I've been at it for years...I call it something else though!

"...our Chairman, Uncle Clarke, has already volunteered to self-isolate himself from Plainmoor."
I hadn't realised that coronavirus started four years ago.
