No I don’t have any actual points to make You said it 👍 This pandemic is having such a fundamental impact on all of our lives it is massively topical and debate is virtually endless. If you don’t like what “swatty” has to say then scroll past his posts. I know it is unlikely but it is possible that others do this for yours and for that matter mine. 😀

The vaccine is there to stimulate the bodies immune system, if that system is shot to bits then there is always the risk of an adverse reaction. I like to do the maths and see how many more lives the vaccine will save. 😀

Reg Indeed Reg, and it's the fact that Government changed the rules of the game to impose 'second jab after 3 months', AFTER some had already had the first jab, that is at the heart of the 'ethical issues' that Rob brings to our attention. Patients agreeing to enter into a course of treatment with their Doctor, and giving their consent on the clear understanding from their GP that it involves and they will get a second jab in 3 weeks. That politicians can step in part way through that process, and bin the understanding and agreement that Doctor and patient have entered into, does raise serious ethical questions both now and for the future. And that's before you take into account the other important point that Rob makes, that the Government imposed timescale between the jabs is contrary to what the drug manufacturer recommends (and surely recommended for good reason) RJD reminds us of the reasons Government gave, and if it had mandated that any future treatments could only be entered into on the understanding that the jabs would be 3 months apart, I feel there would have been far less controversy. Politicians intervening part way through, to nullify existing Doctor/ Patient agreed and started courses of treatment, sits far less comfortably. Just trawling back on this thread, yes that is exactly what I was getting at and hadn’t put as eloquently, AJ.

Reg - your use of 'humour' and 'scorn' is fine by me but do you have any actual points to make ? Moving on then - Nicely dealt with. 😂 Some interesting analysis by swatcat on this issue and definite food for thought as to the choice aspect of vaccination. Whilst I strongly disagree with those who choose not to have the vaccine if offered, that element of choice will always remain. But every choice, however right or wrong it may be, comes with a consequence when others are affected. Where it conflicts with public health in a pandemic, they need to get their head around that. Similar to a widely shared joke on social media, my own straw poll has seen a correlation between those who choose to stick cocaine and whatever else its chopped up with up their nose and a defiant, ‘I’m not taking that vaccine. Don’t know what’s in it’ attitude. It’s probably fair to say I ‘respect’ less, in the wider sense of the word, their choice, as much as others. But they do have that choice.....And consequence.

Re. vaccines in the UK - Oxford/AstraZeneca, BioNTech/Pfizer on stream and Moderna and J & J coming available. From elsewhere, I picked this up - the Govt's Vaccine Task Force has helped arrange a new manufacturing facility in Livingston, Scotland to make a vaccine in development by the French Pharma, Valneva. "VTF has supported the UK’s industrial strategy by reinforcing long-term vaccine capability to prepare the UK for future pandemics, helping to place the UK at the forefront of vaccine R&D, manufacturing and distribution, but more is needed. . . . . the VTF has provided funding to accelerate and expand the UK’s ability to manufacture a range of vaccines at three sites VMIC (Harwell); CGTC Braintree; Valneva (Livingston). These sites will now form the core UK vaccine manufacturing capability for the future." assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/944308/VTF_Interim_report_-_5th_publication.pdfAnd in the D Mail . . . "Valneva is just ‘days away’ from kick-starting manufacture of its jab on British soil. Britain has secured supply of 60m doses at a cost of €470 million (£418 million). French-headquartered firm’s jab is second-largest Covid jab ordered by Govt. It will furnish Britain with 60 million doses of its Covid-19 vaccine – our second largest supply after the Oxford-AstraZeneca injection – but is yet to strike a deal with the EU or its native France. Now French drugs firm Valneva is just ‘days away’ from kick-starting manufacture of its jab on British soil, The Mail on Sunday can reveal. In a major boost for the UK’s vaccination drive, the company’s boss said he hopes Valneva’s Covid jab will be approved and ready to be administered into British arms by the summer or early autumn. Chief executive Thomas Lingelbach said Valneva’s vaccine, which has been produced with financial aid from the UK Government, is about to go into mass production at its plant in Livingston, Scotland." www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9155273/French-drugs-firm-days-away-making-60million-doses-Britains-FOURTH-coronavirus-vaccine.htmlTo me the UK Govt. appears to have played a 'blinder' on provision of vaccines so far and let's hope this goes well. Valneva are about to start manufacture but approval of the vaccine is awaited and it will be some time before vaccinations begin, "In a major boost for the UK’s vaccination drive, the company’s boss said he hopes Valneva’s Covid jab will be approved and ready to be administered into British arms by the summer or early autumn." I just tell it as I see it - good or bad - no agenda. Thanks Guys and ATB.

To last on this site (not many do) you have to be thick skinned, or in the case of the Remoaners...thick headed! 🤭

So far i havent seen one unicorn and its been over 15 days since we left the EU. All I can see is that Boris has wasted his £350m per week on something that wasnt the NHS. No idea what
