Atheringtongull is spot on describing last night's performance.
Gray's number 16, Tommy Black, bossed the game throughout and was head and shoulders above everyone else. D'Sane is an embarrassment everytime he plays. He's lazy, his tackling is half-hearted and when he does tackle he usually gives away a free kick more often than not in our last third where teams seem to hurt us.
I thought the effort was there but we were so ineffective. Grays pass and move play sliced us open time and time again. Can't blame Benyon and Green too much they just never got any real service. As has been said there really isn't a Plan B.
Does anyone know what our game plan is at Plainmoor ?
The ball is simply lumped forward from the back. I think Carlisle actually reads the game well but no-one plays off him, and when Benyon turns his man there's never any support arriving from midfield. Sills wins header after header in games but who's feeding off them ?
Surely after 40+ games we should have a rhythm and more fluid shape and be anticipating
player movement.
To me the problem rests with Buckle. Chopping and changing the team week in and week out
simply adds to our problems. How many games in charge now - must be close to 100 ?

I told you in my pre-match post what to expect from Grays. Tommy Black is just one of those players excellently schooled at an early age at a big club. In his case it was Arsenal (where I am fortunate enough to be able to witness such schooling twice a week at the moment) and although he didn't make more than a couple of First team appearances there he was still highly regarded to the extent that he moved (I think it was between Palace and Wolves) for half a million pounds not that long ago. He is only at the level he is now due to his alcoholism, a battle he has to fight daily for the rest of his life unfortunately; but many fine alcoholics have been world class players ( Paul Gascoigne and Brian Robson spring to mind) and whilst form is temporary, class is permanent.
