For those of you that don't have a Facebook account, Sillsy's current status reads, rather wittily:
Tim Sills wants to thank his wife for a wonderfully stressful week! Took my mind off the game perfectly!

Apparently Cambridge have signed a keeper on loan for tomorrow; Adam Bartlett. Maybe Potter is injured?

It's on their website as 'cover' for Potter - surely that can't be allowed this late in the season? ::)Seems wrong to me. Teams are allowed to sign keepers outside of the transfer window as "emergency" cover ... but aren't Cambridge supposed to have THREE keepers on their books? I wonder whether Potter is injured and so they dont want to risk one of their rookies? Nevertheless to "sign" a keeper at this late stage seems a little bit like cheating to me! Surely it means that there would have been nothing to stop us going out and signing Van Der Saar, Reina, Almunia or even James! My concern is also that Bartlett is not only an excellent keeper, particularly good shot stopper ... but he has also got an excellent record of saving penalties this season I believe(including one against us!) In which case, presumably there would be nothing to stop Cambridge bringing him on, with a minute of extra time left, to replace Potter .... and win the game for them! Grrrrrrr!

Fair play to the footballing authorities for letting Cambridge sign a new player ahead f the final - a victory for common sense........ Sorry what I meant to say - what a f***ing joke. Maybe we should have seen if we could have got a striker in to replace the injured Sturrock but claim that he was here to cover Poke? Ridiculous - simply an absolute joke unless Potter is genuinely injured........
Still, it's all down to our players and how they go out an perform tomorrow, with the added variable of what performance the referee gives (and that applies to both sides)! I've not seen many predictions for the score.
The only thing that matters is that they go out and perform in the way that they have done so often in the last 9 months or so. 2 defeats in the last 19 matches (which includes the Histon match in which the result was perfect!) counts for nothing in this one-off match. The thing that gives me hope is that in the "big matches" as of late (eg the televised Oxford, Burton double-header, Stevenage and Histon games) we have done ourselves justice and performed in a way that we did not at the end of last season.
I can't see that there will be any change to the starting line-up from the Histon second leg other than Benyon replacing the injured Sturrock. I would have Rice, Hodges, Green, Carayol and Ellis on the bench, although I suspect that Christie might take Green's place.
In 24 hours time it **might** all be decided!

Apparently (according to the Amberarmy site on Rivals.net), Potter has "either" a knee or a hamstring injury. Seems a bit vague, don't you think? If that IS the case, why don't they play Aaron Grundy in goal? He's listed in the first team profile list on Cambridge's Official Site. Something smells fishy - and I'm not talking about Capitalgull's pants either!!

And I'll have you know I changed my pants this morning!!

Well fishy, Kev. Maybe we've managed to get Ronaldo on loan for the weekend. The ticket prices suggest we have. This looks like another example of lax rules/blind eye by the Conference. More ammo for Merse, I'm sure!

Well... Sunday's finally* arrived!!!
Never have I been so nervous in 40-odd years of watching the Gulls as I am today... yep, it's at Wembley and the atmosphere should be a cracking one... but at the end of the day we could be playing this on King George V and it wouldn't matter one bit... just the result...
My missus will be glad when today's finally over.... all she's heard me talk about for the last fortnight is this game....
''never mind' she said... ''if you don't win today, it doesn't matter, it's only football''....
Behave woman! and get on with the housework!
COME ON YOU YELLOWS!!!!
*pun intended!

just about to leave Torquay. Aim to get to The Green Man before the game. Very stressful week-will the tickets arrive? where will they "allow" me to sit? (Block 121-result!), will our minibus be on time? Will the driver put his foot down? And most important of all-WILL WE WIN? 2-0 I think, but like everyone, I'll take an in off the ref in the last minute. C'mon Torquay!
