Fair play to the Germans in their thrashing of Argentina. Great game to watch and it looks like it could be their year.

This bloke, found somewhere in Mainland Europe, was completed in 1883: proof that vuvuzelas didn't originate in South Africa?

Thanks, Dave, I looked all over the place, but clearly not in the right place!

World Cup Fever reaches boiling point. Yesterday's live game was the alltime best watched television programme on television overhere. No doubt it will be bettered by sundays game.
Again a very sober display by the Dutch but they've got luck on their side and seem to score just at the right times.

I'd stick to watching Newport County if I were you Spain have been very poor the whole tournament and as Franz said they don't score alot, 7 in whole tournament. We, both, enjoy the pretty football of Arsenal but you must have an end product. You don't win by keeping the ball. Spain created nothing and won by an old fashioned set play because of poor european zonal marking

We, both, enjoy the pretty football of Arsenal but you must have an end product. You don't win by keeping the ball. Spain created nothing and won by an old fashioned set play because of poor european zonal marking I've just read a very interesting report on the Germany v Spain game from somewhere other than the usual UK media outlets and the concluding paragraph stated "in all, a marvellous game of football". Each to their own and I don't expect everyone to have enjoyed it - certainly the BBC commentator and Lawro didn't. But I found it a fascinating battle of wits and tactical ability. When the best tams come together I don't expect a 7-6 final scoreline - I expect a 1-0 or perhaps 2-1 score; and that was what we got. Far from "not being the semi final we hoped for" (BBC Commentator - sorry name escapes me) it was instead the sort of game we should all have expected. The best of one style of football versus the best of another. I can't say I'd be happy if The Mighty Gulls played like that every week, but for a WC Semi I was delighted. I'm sorry that Sunday's Final probably won't be like that, but I hope it is.
