I have been reading through that, great bit of work.
Our chairman is studying for a book on Buxton FC from 1945 to 1973 (our Cheshire League years) using older fans knowledge and reports from our local paper. Sometimes we need to put some meat on the bones, as it were, and coming across Forums like this is great news.

Hi everyone, I am sorry I have not been in the forum for some time but have been spending lots of it saving fields and open spaces for our youngsters to have somewhere to play football and enjoy the outdoors.. The Diamond jubillee has presented me with a great opportunity to save our field from development and have it put into trust under the Queen Elizabeth II Fields in Trust initiative which was started by HRH Prince William during July 2010. Here is my website which shows the result of many years of work to save such a field for generations to come. www.woodhousemill.org/what-the-newspapers-say.php

Good to hear from you Derek. I'm sure that is a cause that would have been close to the heart of your granddad. You can count on the support of the Sheffield and Chesterfield branch of TFF too. Can Barty bring his shovel to hunt for the Schlesien Shield? A couple more Albert cuttings for you:

Great stuff Jon, Barty can bring his shovel ...Ha Ha, will be great to meet up and have just the venue if he can make it on Saturday this weekend! Hope he doesn't mind the smell of horse manure mixing with a beer...
